I've been keeping an eye on my promotions at the Wynn for the last couple months. My Winter Getaway offer had grown steadily worse since January. Either the prices went up for March Break, the type of room was restricted (Encore vs. Wynn, Panoramic vs. Regular, etc.), and in some cases the offer went completely absent for the March Break period.
I logon to my Red Card account yesterday and they've got the $139/night offer for my March Break trip for the Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday night. They're offering $179/night for the Wednesday night before the NCAA tournament begins. They include a buffet for a minimum 3-night stay.
We now get offers from TI since we stayed there on Saturday night for last year's March Break trip. They run $70, $80, $80, and then $90 for the same nights.
My wife is saying save the money and don't bother with the Wynn this year. I much prefer the Wynn to TI, but there is nothing wrong with TI.
My inclination is to save the money and go with TI. I'm also inclined not to gamble at all at the Wynn this year and see what happens to any offers coming my way over next year.

I would take the Wynn offer and then not come back for a whole year after that. ;) And then come back for one short trip and then leave again for another year. Do this for like 3 years. Your offers should go up tremendously :)
Quote: MrVThe resort fees and parking fees are in addition to the stated offers, are they not?
Resort fees are in addition to those prices. I self-park and my understanding is that the self-park is still free. Valet parking the definitely charge for now.

Quote: GWAEI don't even consider those "offers". If that is all you can get from play there then you don't play enough to waste time playing there. If you want to pay that price and stay then fine but I wouldnt waste my money gambling there.
Indeed. I'm too small a fish for them in the gambling department, but I suspect I am for much of the strip too.
My wife and I enjoy the Wynn/Encore property overall which is why I'm willing to pay to stay. Many strip properties are now at $10 minimum craps and the Wynn is as well so overall that's a wash for me. I prefer playing blackjack at $10/hand, but I have played for $25/hand before at they Wynn. Video poker is where the Wynn really falls down for us. Both my wife and I play and we're very comfortable at $0.25 and $0.50 with Jacks or better. The Wynn just doesn't offer a 9/6 JoB unless you're playing for $1 or more.

I think I'm on board with my wife in that we'll stick with TI this time around and skip the Wynn all together. I'll certainly post if my offers change.

Free upgrade to Encore suite. Probably 10 years, last time I stayed!

They most certainly are offers. The regular rate for the Wynn is hundreds more per night. It isn't as good as a free room of course, but I've used those Wynn offers and it makes my girl happy to stay at the Wynn. They took a few hundred of my bill from my single green chip play as well.

Sometimes I think some people are living in the past. I wish world class hotels in NY or Miami would send me offers like that.
The days of $5 BJ players or quarter video poker players getting free vacations is long gone and it ain't coming back.
Getting the Wynn for $139 a night is a great deal for most folks.

knuckle crack the bone, twenty one to win.
Dig through the ditches and burn through the witches.
p.s I don't like all the fancy ritzy hotels like the Wynn/Encore, Bellagio they are boring to me. The only place I was ever really impressed with was the Revel. Given the choice, for the same price (free), I would much rather stay at HR.
Quote: DeMangoNot getting the poll at all. Stay free at the Wynn (don't know about resort fees but the parking is free, no?) or pay Sheldon a ton next door. What am I missing? Cause Stevie messed around and got caught? I think, on three nights, a swing of $500 is significant.
I logged in to my Red Card account and my offer hasn't changed. It's still $139/night and $179 on Wednesday night. The Wynn would be $276 more for me vs. TI for next week's stay.
Overall I realize my gambling activities are not what strip properties would like to see to get really good offers i.e.; free rooms. I'm fine with that. My wife and I like to stay on the strip. The Wynn is in the best spot for us. It's at the end by the mall where things never get too crazy and if we want more action we just walk up to the middle.
We've stayed at the Golden Nugget downtown, Caesars Palace, and Harrah's. Caesars was great the first time we stayed in the Forum Tower and was very nice. The second time we got put in the older section and it was not as nice. At Harrah's, we had drunken screaming college kids in the halls at 3AM. We've had hiccups at the Wynn too, but the consistency of experience at the Wynn/Encore is what kept us coming back.

For me Vegas is about staying as cheap as possible. Our last few trips I have played maybe 5k coin in on GO and about 5 hours of $10 craps and I get free rooms almost anytime I want at paris, Harrahs, Rio, and line. Maybe not the same as Wynn but I would rather take that $400 and use it to play.

And this is why Baskin Robbins offers so many flavors. Everyone is different and likes what they like. Some people jump at offers other people laff at. I was trying to get a friend two nites at the Venetian but the best they'd do for me was $329 with $100 food credit. I was disappointed with the offer but my friend jumped all over it.
Getting a suite for a little over $100 a night was a great deal for him.

Very true. Although still not sure why they need anything other than strawberry cheesecake ice cream.

Was that 5 hours of craps and 5k coin-in per day? That way out-strips my play if it's per day.
