Going to Vegas for 9 days in Sept. Thinking of staying at Venetian. Price is 3X higher in late Sept on weekend than now.

With a 5% Edge don't sweat that, you should be pumped up enough to bet big enough for a free room.

I dunno about that. I think that upper middle class people save a lot of money. But truly rich people (ie, people who never have to work or worry about money again no matter what) tend to spend it. There are exceptions, of course, but somebody is buying all those private jets and it sure as hell isn't poor people.

I have several close friends with 8 figure net worths and they're all value conscious. My 1 friend worth 9 figures doesn't seem to care. Wealth is all relative.

"value conscious" is relative. How many of them live in studio apartments on the sketchy side of town to save a thousand bucks a month?

Exactly. One of them would but he's a sad case. There's a happy middle between value and lifestyle.

Perhaps your friends with 8 figures net worths know the lies they tell other people are lies. They have money but not as much as the act they put on about it can back up and they might have as much in debt.

I think that virtually all reservations are non-binding this far in advance. Therefore if you are committed to one property, it costs you nothing to book it now, and check periodically. If prices come down, you can cancel and re-book. I don't know your gambling levels, but if you do pull the lever, roll them bones, play them cards, etc... you should call and get a host and see what he or she can do for you....
