Just a quick tidbit to express my condolences for The Nevada Landing in Jean, Nevada (right outside Vegas, to the West).
I stopped in there for one last session on my way out of town. I ended up staying there for free for....I think 6 weeks. I did not win a lot of money; I lost a good bit. But, I never had to pay to eat, drink or sleep. And I liked the smaller feel to it, getting to know the pit boss, slot hosts and dealers slightly better than I would otherwise in a larger place like the MGM or Luxor.
I hadn't actually thought about the place until I saw this thread and looked it up to learn it closed about 7 years ago.
