Riviera advertised over and over again that six people would chop $145k. I asked for rules earlier in the day and they were vague, but certainly made it clear "six people will each win $24,170." Riviera allowed two players to win twice. The crowd was not impressed, to put it politely.
I don't know what they were thinking. They are closing and don't care but unless this was in some unpublished rule set somewhere they went against how the promotion was advertised and pissed off a lot of people.
Can PM me names? Initials R.M? or J.S? T.B?Quote: PokeraddictI had no financial interest in Riviera's $145k second chance drawing but I am covering the closure for a story. Players earned one ticket into a drawing for every 600 points earned during April.

The names were not important for the story so I didn't record them. I am really just writing about observations in a time line while the casino closes while getting stories from guests and employees.
The person drawing names noted that the two players that won twice had played constantly during the past month. I am sure they lost a fortune because AFAIK even the 8/5 Bonus Poker is gone now. All of the slot progressives have been at reset number for weeks.
Another oddity is that they did not draw a name and later in the drawing the person won again. When the first player went up there they already knew he won twice before the player claimed the prize. The same for the second double winner. I heard "What a <expletive> setup" and the like several times grumbled in the crowd.
I will be back tomorrow and if there is a list of winners I will get it and PM it to you.

wow.. sounds like the Venetian about a decade ago.
some whale lost lots of $.
they rigged a free drawing for a Mercedes for him to win. don't know how they got caught.
a Sr VP and 2 vps were banned for life from Nevada.
they all found jobs at an Indian casino in Arizona. the casino fully knows what they did.
hm.. are the AZ casinos w/good craps rules an Indian casino?
If the double winners were indeed hustlers I salute them. That's quite the hustle -- I'd been damn sure you could win twice before trying to hustle that drawing.
If it was rigged, well...good riddance to Riviera.

Yup, that's a big pet peeve of mine, IE, not being able to get written rules for contests/promo's. But I'm guessing that the Gaming Commission is not going to put any complaints about the RIV at the top of their list. Not that they would have done anything about it anyway. The problem will "literally" go away soon.
I asked the cage on 2 separate occasions for the rule sheet and they made up an excuse each time. I didn't press the issue.Quote: JohnnyQYup, that's a big pet peeve of mine, IE, not being able to get written rules for contests/promo's.
