Changing the name of a central Strip casino is not trivial. While it won't cost a great big truckload of money to do so, the amounts that will be expended are considerable. I can't imagine doing so unless there were a good reason for it.
I think the Quad looks a million times better than it did as IP

As a low roller, I find your suggestion insulting...lol I mean, there's low, and then there's the Quad...from what I've heard Four Queens is the Ritz-Carlton, by comparison.
Quote: aceofspadesYa know - the last time I was in Vegas I went with my cousin to the Quad sports book and, although it was small, it was clean and I liked the HD projected games onto the flat wall.. Everyone raves about the Caesars sports book (which I suppose is iconic) but, the televisions are not even HD (at least the times I had been there).

I actually feel the same way - I was surprised at how well the renovations at The Quad had turned out (and the entire Linq for that matter). Now, they clearly haven't finished. When we were on the high roller, my fiance looked down at the back sections of the Quad which still had the Chinese-style sweeping roofs and said "which hotel is THAT?" I had to explain that it's the former Imperial Palace, i.e. the faux Asian style architecture.
Quote: AcesAndEightsHonestly I think The Quad is a great name. Considering their target audience of poor college kids...it's the quad! Like the quad at a college...
Quad = 4 = death to Asians
Apparently they have a major problem getting Asians to gamble there.

Wow. What were the odds of that?
You'd think that somebody in some boardroom would have mentioned it. It just goes to show just how little they understand their customer.
Now, even if they change the name, Asians will still avoid it because it USED to be associated with "four"...

I do like the new casino at the Quad better (though I dind't play there). The Linq, though a good idea, seems phoney. The portion of Fremont St. under the canopy and lights is a real portion of a city, with casinos, small shops, etc distributed as they were put up, land sold or leased, etc. The Linq strikes me more as a Dinseyland "street." It's cute, it's clean, it's nice, but it's just another shopping mall.

People were definitely confused before about what the LINQ is/was....it was just that open air alleyway of shops, anchored by the High Roller. Now it's an actual casino/hotel/building. Okay, whatever. Maybe more Asians will show up now.
I'm just wondering if they'll ever change the aisan-style roof architecture...

When I visited, it wasn't finished, but the portion that was open fits this description quite well.
