From the one news report I saw on the web, it looks like it's now just a small part of The Quad. I'd be interested if the still use Flamingo chips or if they've switch to The Quad chips.
Someday, joor goin' to see the name of Googie Gomez in lights and joor goin' to say to joorself, "Was that her?" and then joor goin' to answer to joorself, "That was her!" But you know somethin' mister? I was always her yuss nobody knows it! - Googie Gomez

I read somewhere in the RJ that beer pong is still very much part of the O'Shea's mix, so too is 6/5 Blackjack........
Used to love playing Hold'em at the old O'Sheas with your back to the strip, sunshine, a cold one and loads of calling stations wanting to get in on the action!

I remember that. When the poker boom first took off in 2004 and 2005, all the casino's were trying to cash in on it. O'Sheas put poker tables right inside the front door and advertised it as 'Strip Poker'. They were staffed by Flamingo dealers and supervisors and it was definitely a different poker experience to say the least. Every hour or so, Lucky the Leprechaun was only feet away blowing the whistle, pouring down shots of watered down liquor in patrons mouths, music was blaring, the poker play was horrific, and the players often drunk.
I took it as an opportunity to play a positive EV game and have some fun at the same time. For a period of time they offered one table SNG's (I can't remember the stakes, I want to say a $40-$50 entry, but could be wrong) all day long. One day I played six in a row, won three and finished second once. At that time, I think most tourists were only familiar with a tournament format because that's all they ever witnessed on TV, therefore the casino didn't seem to have much trouble filling a game. The next time I was in town, they had switched it to a small stakes NL game.
Later, they moved the tables to the back of the casino and they didn't get the same sort of action they did up front.

They used to have their own, O'Shea's chips, although there were the same edge stripe pattern as Flamingo chips, and both could be used at either casino...Quote: s2dbakerI'd be interested if they still use Flamingo chips or if they've switched to The Quad chips.
Thanks Doc! ;)

The news video makes the place look like a classy irish restaurant.
I'm probably in the minority but I really liked that place. Low table limits, beer pong, the poker tables out front, hot dog and beer special haha. Anyway I'm glad it's back and can't wait to check it out. I'm sure it will be a little different know since I am 30 and I don't really do the things I used to do 5 years ago (drink 20 beers a night) but I'll alway remember those great times

I liked O'Shea's very much; I was there several times from 10-20 years ago, but don't know what it was before it went under. It felt very local and low-key.
If the House lost every hand, they wouldn't deal the game.

I was visiting a friend in AQB, NM and had a flight canceled, so I made them send me to Vegas for the night. I stayed in the Quad because they always give me comped rooms and they're right in the middle of the strip. I visited the old O'Sheas many times and loved it (mostly for the beer pong and food court with a Subway - something 'relatively' healthy). The new O'Sheas was pretty nice, definitely a much upgraded look and live rock bands. $5 craps, but the BJ didn't look all that great. It's completely connected to The Quad and right by that entrance there's a decent $10, S17, Late Surrender shoe game.
A lot of people have complained about the Quad, but I think it's "ok." I've really liked the Mirage and MGM, but the free rooms I'm rarely in, being in the middle of the strip, and a decent game to play right downstairs if I don't feel like venturing out is nice.
They also completely redid the back alley of what used to be behind the Quad. It's not almost like a shopping mall that leads from LVB down to the huge Observation Wheel, which looks well done and nice. I'm actually heading back that way in a couple months!

A $10 S17 game at the Quad? Surely you jest! I heard CET put in some $25 S17 games at Harrah's (which I have not witnessed but of which I have heard several confirmed accounts). This seems...unlikely. Has anyone else seen this game?
