Quote: PokeraddictThe double royal promo is dead now. I didn't see any of the regulars the last two nights so maybe you guys already know. They upgraded all of the VP at Plaza to compensate for it.
I was checking out VPfree2 and noticed the upgrade also at the Plaza
Gonna be in Vegas next week and staying at the nearby Goldengate.
Not familiar with the double royal promo but quite impressed with this upgrade.
My 2 favorite games, 25 cent 100.17 DB and 99.54 JOB.
And 99.54 is at a bar, can probably watch a game and play.
I hate it when the few casinos that have 99.54 put them in out of the way places with no view of a TV.
Maybe this is the trip I finally hit that elusive for me Vegas Royal.
They also have 9/6 Bonus Deluxe now at the bar too which is a little better payback than 9/6 Jacks.
Its real nice to play quarter 99.54 JOB at a bar with the football game in front of you.
I have a real old players card, tried it out last nite only losing 20. I put the old card in, says Hello and my name.
Its so old, I showed it to a guy at the bar, he offerred a buck for it.
Now that I am planning on playing alot of VP today, went to the players club just to make sure the real old card is working.
I am not in the system. So bizarre. It is a real real old card. So I sign up as a new member.
They have a new players rebate deal but its slots, uggh.
These old card worth anything? Got a big stash at home of various casinos.

The original slot cards may be worth a few bucks because there are not as many of some of them around. I would say though, you should have taken the buck. It is probably not worth anything, but you never know.

If anybody on here collects these, I have a bunch of them from 15-25 years ago; never have thrown one away. Let me know by PM if you want a visual list.

I have a bunch of their old cards from before tiers for Royal Rewards. A couple have Western still on them. I've never thought they were worth anything though. And yes, they all still work. Same players club software they have had for a couple of decades.
Quote: Mission146Slot rebates are still lucrative, the Free Play can be used on VP and you use the original $$$ that you risk to take a shot at something high denom...then grind it all back with Free Play. You have a chance to win big with an expectation of losing small.
I went up to the players club to get info on this slot rebate, I was under the impression it was slots only.
They ran my card, I lost 40 on video poker , they gave me 20 to play today and will get 20 tomorrow. Woohoo
I'm really glad they upgraded the video poker here. I hope it helps because the vibe here is not as lively as other downtown casinos.
Very beginning they had 9/6 $5 denominations.Quote: tringlomaneThe double royal thing was for higher tier members where they got the equivalent of a Royal in free play playing their lower payback machines. I assume with the 100% Royal bonus that it made some of the games positive.
They also have 9/6 Bonus Deluxe now at the bar too which is a little better payback than 9/6 Jacks.
Correct on Higher tiers, however they tier matched from other casinos, lower tiers from other casinos qualified before, If you knew the right casinos to match from,1 day playing got you an Ace for.... 2x RF'S 2x - 4x points and comps extra many free rooms comps, extra promotions etc, etc(I'm sure they tightened up a bit on TR matching).
it was worth probably (hard to exactly calculate) 5% on .25. 24/7 365 for over 7 months solid(slowly downgraded, until last month it eventually dropped to 1.7%. Now less than 1%)
At one point even some slots were worth a fortune(NVM YOU CANNOT BEAT SLOTS, according to the keyboard basement AP's.)

The vibe at the Plaza is depressing. Almost Jerry's Nugget bad. I hope they do something about that. The live band helps a little but it needs something, I just don't know what. Maybe the demo they aim for likes how quiet it is.

You should have either won or lost the other $60.

He should have, but I think he initially didn't think he was eligible for the rebate at all with VP and just settled for playing VP at the bar. $40 is still better than nothing though.

Understood, I meant when they told him he had lost $40 he should have asked if he could go play more.

Absolutely right.
Woulda, coulda , shoulda, story of my life.
Oh well.
Never been to hooters, stopped by there on the way to the Caesars bachanal buffet.
For a casino a bit off the strip, was expecting more then just a 5 buck match play for new player.
won a hand of bj won 10 bucks, caught the bus to the buffet
What small rebate I had, I ran through video keno and hit a 100 dollars so I turned 20 play money into 100 real dollars.
Cashed out, tired of the Plaza.
The vibe at the Plaza is really depressing. Sad because the sports book area is nice big and comfortable.
I was hoping the improved VP would get some more people in, doesn't seem to be working.
The main bar at the Plaza that has 99.54 job is staffed by 2 old bartenders.
They have no interest in sports.
Sports attracts a lot of bar business, people sit down to buy a drink and watch the game.
I stopped by there Tues nite to watch the game and play vp.
Baseball game not on any of the Bar TV's.
I walked over the Main St Boars head bar to play VP and watch the game.
Only problem with Boars Head Bar, sometimes no empty seats and that long brass pole that runs the length of the bar , not very comfortable to rest your elbows or arms on. I prefer a padded bar.
Yes at least before with some AP attractive promotions and games it looked busy and it attracted the poppies to stay and play "free" shillsQuote: terapinedStill kicking myself for not going for the whole rebate. Oh well.
