I have reservations to stay at the MGM hotel in a few months and I have a service dog. I am looking for advice on the best place on the grounds for the dog to relieve himself. Is there a designated area?

see if you can get him to crap right in front of the lion

the next time Dame Fortune toys with your heart, your soul and your wallet, raise your glass and praise her thus: “Thanks for nothing, you cold-hearted, evil, damnable, nefarious, low-life, malicious monster from Hell!”   She is, after all, stone deaf. ... Arnold Snyder

LOL!!!

OP, I'm sure if you call the hotel, they will tell you. They no doubt must have a plan for this contingency.

Ignoring the rather amusing suggestions provided by others, I'll try to offer just a little help. I think part of the issue might be related to the type of "service dog" that you have. Some, of course, are critically needed, such as those used by the blind. In other cases, I have gotten the impression that the "service" being provided is of the nature that "I just can't stand it when I leave my cute little Poopsie behind -- I get so lonely, and she is of such emotional service to me!"

The MGM web site has a FAQ page located here. Among the Q&A is this comment:
Quote: MGM Grand FAQ

Q. Does MGM Grand Hotel allow pets?

A. We are sorry, but pets are not allowed on property, with the exception of assistance animals (those needed to assist the physically challenged ). If you should require information on boarding kennels, please call MGM Grand Reservations at 1-888-646-1203 or (702) 891-7777.

If you feel that your situation matches what they describe as assistance animals for the physically challenged, then I suggest you call one of those phone numbers, tell them that you are bringing your animal to the hotel, and ask about relief accommodations other than the 6:5 BJ tables. If your situation does not match that case, you should get back in touch with the hotel about your reservation.

Well this certainly brings up an interesting point. If you were staying at Circus Circus or Monte Carlo, how would they know that your Service Animal relieved itself in the Casino ?
