I just received a email from El Cortez. It stated that their slots where 42% looser than the strip and 35% looser than Clark county. I don't play slots but I thought this was interesting. Anyway to prove their figures?

In case anyone is wondering, what they are really saying is the house edge is 42% less than the downtown average and 35% less than Clark county. Personally, I don't like the phrasing, but applaud any casino with loose games.

If you go to the cage and ask, they will give you a sheet of paper with their own returns as well as downtown and Clark County and you will see their math is right. I suppose you will have to take it on faith they are correctly reporting their own return. The rest you can also get from the Gaming Control Board web site.

Thanks for the reply Wizard. Yes that's what I thought they where saying I was just wondering if it could be proven to be true or false. Thanks again for your clarification!!

If I understand correctly (and I may not be) this claim would be considered valid if they could prove one machine was set to a 33% higher return than Clark county. The average return for Clark county is 93.25%. So El Cortez should have at least one machine set 33% higher than that. It doesn't mean every machine is 33% higher than average correct?

Pretty sure you are misunderstanding.
What they are saying is if the average casino has an eight percent hold, that their hold is a third less.
About ten years ago, they did a slot audit with Strictly Slots magazine and, if memory serves, were certified as having the poorest slots downtown.
