Craps is $5 on weekends, sometimes there's a $3 game during the week.
Roulette at the .25 cent level is fun for my wife!
No pool.
Lots of smoke.
Walk downtown, don't need a car.
Coffee shop is OK.
EZ check in nice staff reasonable rates.
The tower rooms windows actually open so you can get some fresh air. You'll need it.
Pack a set of extra duds for the car or plane home, cause you'll smell like smoke if you wear the same clothes you wore in the casino.
There was a safe, blow dryer and coffee pot in the room. They'll bring you a refrigerator if you ask, for your milk and beer.
The cabana junior suites have a fridge, but the room are too small for me. Even the junior suites, never book a regular sized cabana room.
The pavilion rooms are a converted outdoor parking garage, but they'll do for a place to, SS&S.
The vintage rooms were frightening to me, but some folks like them. The vintage suites are reserved for the crusty old regulars, High Rollers Yeeeeee Haaaa!
.
Just those comments about the smoking are enough to turn me off it forever.
The coffeemaker is nice but the coffee would have to be flaked with gold if I'm going to have it inside a cloud of tobacco smoke.
Love the Flame.
Cute dealers on BJ.
I didn't think it was smokey. Then again it was early.
I went specifically to check out the craps table. There were reports in other threads that they and Jokers Wild are the only games in town that use quarters.
I didn't get to JW this trip, but last trip they did use quarter chips. And with $1 minimums, I doubt that will change soon.
Different story at El C. No quarters. They DID have halves, but I was told that they are only used if a player makes a $3 minimum bet on 6 or 8. Any other bets, and when minimums are $5, then they aren't used.

Seriously, what do you think the results would be if someone tested the air quality inside? The place is a toxic waste dump.
But it isn't unique. All the other downtown casinos are basically the same, except with more cigars at the Golden Nugget.
I got a vintage suite last time I stayed just by asking. They are truly something to be experienced if you are into Vegas history at all. Huge rooms at cheap prices and no, I didn't think they were dirty at all.
Quote: DJTeddyBearI was there briefly 2 weeks ago on a Tuesday morning around 8:00.

Could someone tell me where halves come in? $5 odds on a 6 or 8 pays $6. Where's the halves? What, is odds on a $3 pass line bet limited to $2.50 on a point if 6?

Not odds, but placing the 6 or 8, which pays 7-6 (so a $3 bet results in $6.50).
