Cosmo got beat up a bit upon opening because someone filmed the goings on and posted it to social media. The Governor saw it and called Bill McBeath (CEO) and read him the riot act. With McBeath running the show there...let’s just say I’m not surprised there are some big issues at Cosmo.

I’m not exactly sure how valid these claims are ...but there were definitely grumblings that Cosmo management were flaunting the rules.

The smoking issue has been here since day one. You are allowed to smoke in the casino. It turns the entire “Health and safety guidelines are our #1 priority”....into a ginormous hypocritical farce. Gaming control knows it. Sisolak knows it. Casino bosses know it. So be it. Admit the farce, tell us it’s money over health, and we move on.

No one should be blowing covid on the casino floor. We all know that. Removing the mask to drink or eat is understandable to some degree. We need fluids and food to function.

Cosmo has had issues since day 1. Those problems start with the CEO and trickle down....the main term or word being “it’s ok to flaunt the rules”.

Its the same at every casino, just not publicized. They all have hundreds of people out with Covid, exposure or high risk. And until the $600 Federal money just ran out, it was beneficial for lower paid positions like Security, House Keeping, Casino Cleaners, Maintenence, etc., to just stay home and collect unemployment.

These British tabloids have a tendency to repackage old news as new.

But, whether old or new it would make some sense that a place like Cosmopolitan that attracts a certain crowd might have patrons who refuse to wear masks.

Having just returned from a five night stay at Vdara, I walked through the Cosmo a lot.

It is no better or worse than any other casino in the immediate area. Just a younger and rowdier crowd so maybe they are taking more heat? But I can guarantee that Bellagio and Aria are experiencing the exact same safety issues right now.

I dunno, I can't see a place like Wynn/Encore allowing anyone to even stroll through without a mask. Ten or more years ago, security there was more lax, but since 2017, there are Wynn security guards stationed near every entrance and in every hallway, day and night. I'd think that anyone flouting regulations would be confronted quickly.
