Sliders then were 39 cents, or 3/1.00, and that was 1993. (I'm kind of blown away by the Vegas pricing; talk about a concession fee!) When I lived there in the early 80's, sliders were 19 cents each. So you saw a whole lot of poor people, homeless, bar crowd, anybody looking for cheap eats. The line was always long, but always moving. And the people watching was priceless.

I can remember back in the '60s when they were $.08.

They also had a car-hop service. You could order and eat in your car.

It was always fun to go there on the weekends when all the bars and clubs closed. It was entertaining watching drunk people order in one line and then going to another line to pick up their order. Often when a couple ordered, the guy would make his girl wait in line while he went to a table and passed out!

There once was a White Castle in the AC boardwalk. For some reason it closed after a few years.

I just don't get it. White castle burgers are so gross. And I'm not one of those people that says all fast food is gross. They serve free white castle burgers over lunch at El Cortez on Thursdays. I find it pretty difficult to pass on free food, so I've had them a couple times when playing my 1500 points for the month. I feel like they ruined the rest of my day both times. I imagine the feeling of eating 6 tiny white castle burgers=the feeling after attempting the mcnugget challenge.

According to their website, 100x odds is back.

I stand corrected. I did the craps survey for this site and was there on December 22 or 23 and it was still 20x.

Looks like they closed for a couple hours today as they ran out of products. Someone underestimated the volume they were going to do.

Casino Royale is the tiny place on the strip, right?

Rock. I'll actually be at Harrah's on Th/Wed and can partake of this... er... delicacy for the first time.

Yes, you got it. Micro-roller joint between Harrah's & Venetian, across the street from the volcano & pirate ship.

My guess is the line dies down after the novelty wears off. White Castle has a certain kind of nostalgic appeal to those who grew up in the midwest/east, but honestly there's nothing worth waiting in line for about their food. I realize I say this having already mentioned my glee earlier in this thread...it's just one of those things you get a craving for occasionally.

I think most of the line is probably people from the west who have heard about it and never been there. "Oh! White Castle, we have to try that!"

+1. Back in my rock concert days we would always stop on the way home at the hopple st exit just north of downtown Cincy to fill up on white castle. It was the only one in the area (that I knew of). Now there is a glut of them 60 or so miles north and I hardly ever go now.
