Absence of bollards or other barriers noted.

Driver has been charged with attempted murder of janitor in critical condition.

Driver kept revving the engine until security personnel dragged her from the vehicle and turned off the engine.

Casino has security and EMT teams on duty at all times.

Bicycle racks and planter boxes are cheap obstructions that prevent vehicle ramming.

A security alert of a player ejection might have helped other guards to be alert.

Sadly this is why more places need to install vehicle barriers and have armed guards because tragedies from crazy people like this are becoming too common.

Hopefully she gets her liscense suspended for life in addition to the other charges, vehicles can be more dangerous than firearms in the hands of crazy people.

Yeah, this isn't PC, but as someone who lived in Florida for 7 years I can say that old people should be banned from the road. I got hit 4 times in as many years from behind by blind blue haired old bats.

This was not a bad driver or an old person not paying attention (I think she was 50s if I recall from article).

She was intentionally trying to cause damage and possibly trying to kill casino employees....

This was pure intent to cause damage and chaos.

I honestly think driver liscense should be harder to obtain. I think the process is far too easy.

The written test needs to be much harder (at least at CDL level) and the skill testing lanes need to be graded stricter (not just a rubber stamp by a DMV employee who is just sitting on his phone....)

Some countries also require a psychological exam to drive, I don't think this is a bad idea either.

No for everyone. Anyone can be a terrible driver.

If Uber should have a better training program is another topic.... And, one that I would probably agree with, but that would also mean higher rates....

I 100% agree. I have no idea how the immigrants are passing the written test here in Vegas, it's actually hard, at least the English version. I know a handful of seemingly smart people that have failed multiple times. I have no proof of this, but I was told they make the Spanish version easier to pass.

Years ago, I knew a young man who just turned 15 1/2 who could just barley read or write. When I heard from his relatives he was planning on getting his drivers licence, I ask how the hell would he pass the written test? Even if he could read and write I was almost certain he couldn't pass the test. As it turns out, they will read the questions for you. After completing whatever stuff he had to complete he had no problem getting a licence.

They probably watched her get into her RV and stopped watching once she started to drive.

of what?
Kind of hard to suddenly think there is drive in entranceway.
Security kept yelling at her to turn the engine off, she made no attempt to do so.
She kept revving the engine, trying to proceed further into the casino.
Janitor apparently perceived her intentions and was walking back and forth across the doorway, interposing himself as a human shield.

Sounds like criminal mischief escalated to attempted premeditated murder.

I doubt she had any AP skill. AP’s would understand the probability of a bad run as likely. Maybe, she gambled beyond her budget.

At 66, i would think that one would have a social security check to support themselves. Unless she had low work experience. Well, maybe she wont have to worry about bills if she stays in prison.

I would never be a human shield. I use my body to work. I injured my foot. A buddy accidentally pushed a mower into my foot. I cant exercise for a week. I decided to go back to safety toe shoes.
