I always worry that I am gonna get screwed by these things. I hit 6 in about 2 weeks. Cost me $0.22 net to get the 6 points. Being a truck driver has it benefits on occasion.
Anyway, please post either way....thanks...
Alan
Still have 22 hours left ...
Quote: bigfoot66still don't have mine either....figure we get them tonight at midnight?
Are you guys checking online, or in the casinos? I don't live near a TR casino, so I can't get there today but it DOES take 24 hours for the website to update. I'm not going to panic until Nov. 2, as I figure it could take that long to register them online.
I'm getting the 60,000 myself, and have been checking the past few days.
"Bally's Atlantic City
UPDATE- Rewards from The Great Race promotion will hit accounts after 8pm tonight. Thank you!"
Now don't bust my chops and ask whether it's EDT, EST or Pacific time!

Certainly looks as if they're past the deadline EDT.
Still no money for me.
Quote: FleaStiffAren't these credit things similar to Free Travel Miles... as soon as you get enough to do anything with, they change the value structure? Or they just award you fewer than they otherwise would have?
Normally, I would say yes, but I'd be more apt to believe they raise prices on the comped stuff in general than change the program.
First, I would guess the large majority of TR card holders DIDN'T participate in the promotion. Second, the Cash For Rewards program is necessary in the Midwest, so I don't see them changing that.
Quote: DocI had 30,000 points added last night. My trip to Reno/Tahoe was too late in October for me to get credit for another region. Is 30,000 points $300? And I'm a guy who has only accumulated a tier score of 871 this whole year. What is the best way to spend 30,000 points without wasting them on something that would be given/discounted without them?
Yes, that's $300 worth of points. As for using them...saturday night hotel stays? They're usually difficult to get comped.
They are worth 300 Harrah's Dollars and 150 Real American Dollars. Trading them in for cash is perhaps the LAST thing you would want to do to get the most value from them (although it would be the most fungible instrument). If you visit casinos, you could get a lot of food, wine, gifts and hotel stays, which may or may not be worth more than half their value to you. If they are not, then you should exchange for cash. You may also check the markups on semi-fungible consumer goods like watches, jewelery, etc.Quote: DocI had 30,000 points added last night. One thing is for sure... be sure to earn one more credit by the expiration date (which is 6 months after the last earned date.) Otherwise, you'll lose all those points.
I'm trying to decide how to spend mine. I'm thinking the next few trips I'm going to live like a king and do the spa treatment and the works!!
Quote: bigfoot66I was gonna ask if the RC's can be used at the spa, Any reason to think that they would not be?
According to the website, most of the spa's accept RC's. The easiest thing to do is charge the bill to the room, then reconcile using RC's.
I just checked my wife's Total Rewards account. She was just awarded 30,000 points, the same as I was. Together, it appears that we now have a combined $605 available, compared to a combined $5 yesterday.Quote: indyfoolI received my credits today, but my wife who went along with me to each casino hasn't received hers. Is Harrah's limiting this reward to one per household?
Got mine too. Woot! 600,000 quatloos richer, for a total of 656,000. I plan to draw out $200 in cash, and save $200 worth of comps. I have no desire to live large at Caesars, but it is nice to have credits on hand for stuff.Quote: DocI just checked my wife's Total Rewards account. That's where mine are going!
By the way, thanks to all for your suggestions. I do, indeed, get offers for cheap/free rooms at some casino hotels in the chain for Sun-Thurs but rarely anything nearly so attractive for Fri-Sat.
Quote: DocIn the past, I have used the measly number of points I have earned toward whatever balance I have left on my room bill. I want to be sure I am thinking this correctly, though. If I have on the Total Rewards web site an "offer" of a discounted-but-not-free room and book that offer, can I then apply a portion of these new points to whatever balance remains on my account at checkout? If the offer is for a "free" room and I charge meals, etc. to the room, same thing? They don't go back and price the room at rack rate or something before they apply these points, do they?
My experience is whatever you are quoted is the price of the room, no changes. The RC's are then used to offset the price that was quoted. The difference between Harrah's and other casinos is that a host is very unlikely to "comp" you without using your balance, but it seems like you get that already.

I have read some posts around here (don't recall from whom) about having a floor supervisor offer a "free buffet" as the player leaves the tables, only later to see that the buffet was paid for by deducting points previously in the account. If that is a real practice, I want to know how to avoid it.
At a Horseshoe property, they will not deduct your balance if they offer it to you. However, Harrah's is notorious for doing as you said. Most times, they will tell you they deducted it but not always. Simply ask if they are going into your credit balance. In the case of you having $5, they will say they are draining it, but get you the meal anyways. Now, yeah that would take from your balance. But just ask up front, they will tell you the truth.
