Quote: DreamerHas anyone been here? I live about 2hrs away, do they have any decent blackjack games that would be worth the drive? I appreciate any replies.
Their shoe games are all 8 deck and not very good. Their double deck game used to be one of the best, but they recently dropped surrender as a rule. But it is still quite good.
There are a bunch of casinos along that road, Pauma, Valley View, Pala that are about 15mins apart, I'd recommend visiting each one to see what works best for you. The rest all have 6 deck games with decent rules.
Quote: AlanMendelsonI think Harrah's Rincon is angry with me. I played card craps there early this morning, and on my hand I hit five numbers of the fire bet ($1250 on the $5 bet) and took a photo of the table layout with the fire bet discs on the numbers. I posted it on the casino's facebook page ... and a few hours later it disappeared.
That is probably just standard policy--a lot of corporate Facebook sites don't allow other people to post on their sites.

Take a look at their facebook page. Loaded with posts by others. Including photos of slot machine jackpots.

Maybe because they don't want people taking photos of the games? pretty standard in most casinos.

I had no problem taking a photo of the craps table layout at Caesars when I made five points. The Rincon facebook page has plenty of photos of players playing poker, players posing in front of slot machines with their jackpotss. No people were in the photo -- it was just the layout with the discs on the table.
Also, congrats of the Firebet!
Quote: AyecarumbaCould there be a copyright issue with the artwork? Do you see other pictures of the same layout on their wall?

First I would love to take credit for my expert shooting, but I can't. LOL. I was only an RNG throwing two dice wildly down to the end of the table and the faces showing on the dice led to two card positions. Often I threw a 5-2 on the dice which made a point or a number. It's a crazy way to play craps and I did it more out of fun and for just being curious.
And you know my strategy for playing just the passline and the fire bet? Well, here's the ideal place to do it since any attempt at dice influencing or dice control doesn't mean anything.
About a copyright issue on the layout? Perhaps they are concerned about someone copying artwork, layouts, etc, but I have never seen a copyright symbol on any gaming table anywhere, have you? And what would be the purpose or effect? Taking a photo is not a violation of any copyright law, is it?
The reason why I think (some) casinos don't allow photography at gaming tables is that the photos might include other players. There is an assumption that when you are taking the photo of a royal flush that other players are not in the shot.
Again, Caesars Palace had no problem when I stopped the game to shoot the layout after I hit five numbers on the fire bet. And when the fire bet for all six numbers was hit several players whipped out their cell phones to snap photos at Caesars and no one said a word.
Quote: BozMaybe Bob Dancer had something to do with it. After all, he is out to get you at every turn.
I've never had any contact with Bob Dancer except when I went to one of his seminars about seven or eight years ago. As far as I know he has no idea who I am.
Quote: YokeohI would take your money to barona becuz they have higher limits on the weekend at rincon minimum $10 while you can find $5 tables at barona on weekends. Also barona has some interesting sidebets
What sidebets at Barona? I called Barona because I was told that with their card craps the cards are dealt face up one time for each shooter so you could actually see in advance what dice combinations you need to hit particular card values.
When I was talking to someone in the pit he said they had no fire bet and no hop bets and no exotic bets. so what side bets do they have?
Some folks at Rincon told me that PALA has some interesting jackpot bets. I was told if your dice show 1-1 and the cards show Ace-Ace that there is some kind of jackpot. I played card craps at Pala once several years ago but I don't recall any bet or jackpot like that.
Cards and Craps is a mixture I don't care to even consider so I'm glad I'm geographically untempted.
It shows that "gambling" is a variable offering and that there are various pressures on a casino customer: time, distance, spousal preferences, convenience, exotic atmosphere, particular unique variations at certain casinos, etc.
It is once again an illustration that "Vegas Baby" and "Las Vegas" are each states of mind as well as being geographically defined locations. I can see that if I were to trek to Rincon it would be a disappointing trip in many respects but still an adventure in some. The geographical dispersal of gambling is having a great effect on just what casinos offer and what customers will accept.
Quote: FleaStiffI think this thread has revealed that even the much maligned Indian casinos are very much part of the items available on the smorgasbord and that all casinos are competitive in some manner seeking to differentiate themselves and reach out to some market niche.

I too was untempted due to geographical location, but that has changed. My tour operator is now offering me a junket to Rincon. Since I am primarily a craps player, if it turned out I did not like the game, it could be a 'crappy' trip for me. OTOH, how can going to San Diego for a few days have any bad connotations?

Rincon's representation of its location in "San Diego", is similar to Casinos in Lake Tahoe representing themselves as "Reno/Tahoe", or Laughlin/Primm casinos advertised as "Las Vegas". It is inconveniently distanced, north and east of San Diego proper.

You are right there are no exotic bets at the craps table, but this thread was originally started as a blackjack thread and i responded in that manner. In regards to blackjack they had some deal if I think the first two cards were of the same suit and a bad bust bet if you recieve a 20 and the dealer draws to 21.

If you are primarily a craps player and want the dice to determine the final outcome then you need to get to either barona or sycuan. Those are the only two indian casinos that have a craps game where the final outcome is determined by the dice.
Harrah's rincon is a total scam they deal the cards face down so what am i doing rolling the dice why don't i just point my finger at a card after each roll they then deal a new set of cards.
Well, it ain't really "San Diego"... junket operators care about your action at the client casino and don't want you traipsing all over town irrespective of whether its an easy traipse or a difficult one. If it turns out this California Card Craps is utterly not to your liking, you could still be in good standing with your junketeer by simply confessing that your low "action" level at Rincon was simply due to your viewpoint of card craps and that you still wish to be highly rated for other junkets to other destinations with real crap games. Junket operators won't be offended if you are honest with them and do all your gambling at the host casino.Quote: RaleighCrapsI too was untempted due to geographical location, but that has changed. Scam is a bit harsh, but I agree. What's the point of giving the players two dice to roll?
Ironically the one time I shot there I hit five numbers on the fire bet. The floorman comes over to me and says "nice shooting." I look at him and I said "you're kidding. Nice shooting? Come on."
I even asked the stickman if I had to hit the back wall with the dice? I was standing stick right. "Why can't I just drop them in front of you and save everybody time and trouble?"
"No" was the answer. They still want the dice to hit the back wall. Which leads me to believe that they are hoping for and planning for the day when real casino dice will be legal in California. So, make the game look like the "real game" now so it will be easier to make the transition later.
I'll be swinging down there in a few days, so I can give an up-to-date confirmation. (Note that it'll be a high-traffic [gift] day, so they may bump up the limits.)
