ESPN article about ticket sales
$8.96M gate from 13,229, that's an average of $677 per ticket. More if some of those tickets were comped (or maybe not, if they include the face value of the ticket in the figure for total sales.) And I know that some tickets will sell for thousands, but an *average* of nearly $700? Holy crap!
The only thing better than seeing Van Halen with the Wizard at Mandalay Bay was that he scored the tickets for free as a comp.

The 13,229 does not include the 925 comps (nor the about 2000 tickets that weren't sold).
Apparently, there were five tiers of tickets - $1200, $900, $600, $400, and $200.
