Quote: FaceMore than that I'd think. 300rds of .223 is $150 plus tax.
Depends on which. Walmart had $40 boxes of Federal for quite a while. It's quality ammo, OK even for single fire, more than enough for automatic.
Quote: Face300 of .308 would be over $300. If I recall, an M16 fires 5.56mm which is just a heavier powdered .223, say $200ish? Either way, I can't think of a cooler (or faster) way to burn through $200 =).
5.56 and .223 are partially compatible, there's only a minor difference in dimensions from different standards and 5.56 has a bit higher permitted pressure. Any 5.56 rifle can use .223, most AR15-style .223 rifles can use 5.56, but not all. 5.56 can actually sometimes be found as military surplus even cheaper than .223, especially in large quantities.
Quote: FaceAlso 'bargain stuff' is usually laquered, which fouls almost every American made assault rifle, even the semi-auto's. Save that mess for your Kalishnakov.
That's things like Brown Bear, but it can be had for even less than $25.
Quote: EvenBobHey, the 4th installment of the Chopped championship is on tonight. These talented people are making some whiz bang meals out of crappy baskets, its a wonder to watch.
I always wonder how they make up those baskets-----"and for the dinner round you have a basket of: peanut butter, sardines, rutabagas, and honey mustard salad dressing."
Still one of my more favorite shows.
Quote: AZDuffmanI always wonder how they make up those baskets--
The sadistic producers do it. The most creative has to be the desserts. I like the contestants that take issue with the judges decision. It always cracks me up.
Thoughts?
Quote: zippyboyObviously you guys are a bunch of foodies like me. So I'm sure you all watched the finale of Top Chef tonight.
Thoughts?
I only watch Food Network and that guy on the travel channel who tries to break all you can eat records. Adam something. Man vs Food.
Quote: EvenBobWow, the best ep of Chopped I've seen, and I've seen them all. Those chefs were all long time good friends and it was a treat to see them compete. When Aarón Sanchez got emotional, you could tell the other chefs were very supportive. I really liked Aarón on Chefs vs City, but it got cancelled. I hate to admit it, but I didn't realize how much I like these people, and it was quite emotional for me to watch this episode. I've had a crush on Amanda Freitag for years. I love her voice and she seems very nice and very talented. Looking forward to next week to see final outcome.
It was great and it was great to see that all those judges actutally know what they are doing and as well took care to make the same screw-ups. One let some bone get by, that was about the worst of it. No "forgotten " ingredients, no over/undercooked. And no whining.

I couldn't believe Jeffery couldn't get the skin off a plantain. Its nice to see the judges as good or better than any of the cooks they've had on the show. I don't see how Aaron can win, the other chefs will say its fixed if he does.
If you can sit thru it again, its just as bad as it was last year.
If you haven't seen it, you should watch anyway.
Quote: EvenBobThis show is on tonight at 8pm Vegas and LA time on TLC.

Cool. Just DVR'd it. Thanks.

My favorite part is still when the COO is apologising to
roulette players for not hitting their number and taking
their money.
If a player is caught cheating, the casino will often detain them and confiscate their cheques. They have to fill out paperwork and surveillance is supposed to witness the confiscation, so they'll sometimes leave them on the rail and then box them up for County when the paperwork is ready.Quote: EvenBobAnybody see Larry the Cable Guy tonight? He was in Vegas and a casino was showing him casino surveillance. They supposedly caught a guy 'capping' in a BJ game. They sent security over and he was escorted off the property. It was BS. First of all, the player had at least $200 in red chips in front of him and they just left them there. I've seen people 86'd and they always let you cash in your chips before you leave. And this guy committed a felony in NV, and they just let him go? Never gonna happen. Also, the manager who spotted the felony called it down, and security got there before the hand even ended. I don't think so.
Quote: LonesomeGamblerIf a player is caught cheating, the casino will often detain them and confiscate their cheques.
It was the 'escorted off the property' that I had trouble
with. They gave the impression they were showing him
the door, and by 'door' they didn't mean the back door
of a police car.
Quote: Wavy70I'm with ya on this show.I would imagine the camera crew, sound techs, lighting techs, director and Kraft table may tip the other employees off that something may be up.
so how did they explain the cameras on the CEO dealer?
The CEO, as well as another candidate, are competing for the job, and the competition is the focus of the TV show.Quote: 100xOddsso how did they explain the cameras on the CEO dealer?
The other candidate IS on the show, but you have to watch real closely. Young blond guy. There are a couple very short shots of him with each of the two dealers. He has maybe 5 seconds total air time.
