My family has had NY Giants season tickets since the early 1950s, perhaps even earlier.
At the Meadowlands, our seats in section 110 had started out at $10 when it opened and were ,I believe, $140 a game when it closed.
For the new stadium, our location was considered premium seating and would be $700 a game, plus a.$50,000 license per seat. Some felt that this would be an investment and you could make money as the license fee increased.
Knowing that we couldn't possibly afford $200,000 in PSLs and an additional $2800 a game, we looked into alternative methods and the Giants hooked us up with a Wall St. type company that was interested in upgrading their season seats. The seats were not horrible, and were $140 a game plus a $5,000 fee per seat. We traded seats, and they paid all the PALs for the eight seats. I moved west in 2015 and haven't been to a game since.

Have been to two Cowboys games in the past decade. First was the wild card game roughly ten years ago when they hosted the Eagles, and only went because I got a call from one of our vendors the day of the game asking if I was a fan. They gave me two tickets and they had rented a suite at Jerry World, plus a parking pass.

We got there before they opened, were able to park in the front row, once they opened we toured the stadium, then went to the suite where food and booze was free. They even had two cheerleaders come in and take your picture with them, have that hanging on my office wall. Cowboys won and that was just an awesome experience. Spoiled me.

Then last season my best college buddy wanted to bring his sons out for a game so the four of us went to see them host the Vikings. Bought tickets on Stubhub, crappy seats for about $170 per, fought traffic in and out (I live two miles from the stadium and it took about 1.5 hours to walk to car and fight traffic to get home). Never again.

Is it just me or are NFL fans the biggest suckers ever ? Forgeddabout the high ticket prices, forced to pay full prices for exhibition games, parking, food prices etc. Is there another sport fan who does not even see him team play at home for the championship? I mean build the team a stadium. That or theywill go elsewhere. Support them for decades. Finally MY team is playing for the title. Not in either teams home town. Plus average fan is definetly priced out of the picture. Super Bowl my ass. SUCKER BOWL WITH SUCKER SPELLED LOYAL FAN.

You mean other than NCAA football, NCAA basketball, the World Cup and a couple dozen other sports? Other than that, I suppose you have a point. Somewhere.

My brother is a Jets fan. He had season tickets the entire time they were playing in the Meadowlands at Giants Stadium. When MetLife stadium was built, he told me how much the season ticket prices had skyrocketed, and gave them up.

I'm not a sports fan at all. Oh, sure, if there's a game on the TV where I happen to be, I'll watch and enjoy it, but that's about it. And I'll root for our home team only because it's supposedly good for the local economy.

He also owned a business. I was one of his employees. He often gave the tickets away to his top customers, or salespeople. Once, about 15 years ago, he didn't want to go and couldn't find anyone to give them to, so he gave them to me. Told me that my wife and I would have a good time, if we remembered one thing: The Jets are gonna lose.

I don't remember who they were playing, but it was a cold December afternoon. I'm freezing my tits off, and there are guys in the lower levels with no shirts on, displaying their body paint. Whatever.

The Jets scored first. I then went to the restroom, where a lot of the comments were "Well, we saw them score. We can go home now."

Of course, we stayed. It was a great game. High scoring, tight, with a couple lead changes.

Then, when there are less than 30 seconds to go, the Jets have the ball and a small lead, when they put it in the air. It gets intercepted, and ran back for a touchdown. A few minutes later, game over. Jets lost.

The next morning, as soon as I get to work, I went into my brothers office and said, "What the hell was that?" He just laughed. I said, "How did you know? They were in the lead. The game was almost over. And then..."

He laughed some more, and said words that I would never forget. "That's what the Jets do best."

As a life long Jets fan I'd be upset and report you to a moderator except that everything you said is 100% true (big sigh). They always find a was to lose and never have had a marque Quarterback. When they do get a great one, like Farve, they get him for the last year of a great career.

I have 50 yard line seats for the Broncos and the pricing situation is no different. I just sell the tickets on-line, take the profit, and then watch the game on TV so I don't freeze my tail off. Also, it's not just football. The Colorado Avalanche are just as overpriced...hundreds of dollars for one game with a family of four.

When did soccer become a major sport?

Except for America, it has been for a hundred years in the rest of the world. I have to side with my country because I find it boring as hell. I do like it when the fans try to kill each other.

Almost as boring as baseball.
