WoV 2016 Spring Fling -- Attendees Lists, etc.

Doc tried to make a reservation for Saturday night for 20 but the 777 said they couldn't honor a reservation for a party that big and it would have to be first come first serve.
As a reminder, 5:00 is the "trickle in" time. I'd like to encourage everybody to come as close to 5:00 as you can, as our chances of getting our usual long table will be better at 5:00 than 6:00. We'll need as many warm bodies as we can as soon as we can to increase our bargaining power.
I've found the "trickle in" hour to be a fun social time to play musical chairs, talking with multiple people, before you have to pick a spot and stick with it.

Latest word is that we do have a reservation, aided by a craps pit supervisor. It's officially for 6:00, but do plan to wander in much earlier to help encourage anyone sitting at "our" table to get out ASAP so they can get it set up for us!
Right now, it's in my name, but I'll try to get there early and put a bug in the receptionist's ear that it's the WoV table, in case there's a crowd and that helps anyone find the right spot.

Just saw this thread today, 36 hours before I fly to Vegas. It looks like you still have fewer than 20 signups for the Saturday dinner, so if you'll take an inactive but long-time member I'd like a spot for my friend and I.
If nothing else I'll at least stop by to try and get my copy of the Wizard's book signed...

Yep. And that's the answer to several questions.
First, yep, the cell phone battery did die. Some combination of that and the extremely poor reception at 777 kept me from receiving two communications. First message was a PM from Wizardofnothing, asking where we were sitting at 777. Didn't get that, and we never met up. Exchanged replies much later when I was plugged in at my room, and this morning I see his name is in red. Haven't come across the explanation for that just yet.
Second missed message was a text from BlueEagle, who did find us just as we were closing out a good craps session at the Grand.
Second "yep" is to confirm the free buy bet. PokerGrinder and Konbu were at the opposite end of the table from rdw4potus, his +1, and me, so I didn't pick up on this promo until the very last shooter, who had an excellent roll. I had been placing 6 and/or 8 and pressing gently. Eventually, I put a quarter on 10 and waited to see whether they collected vig on the buy or win. Turned out to be neither. Dealer said he didn't know whether it would be that way next month. I collected on the 10 once or twice, then 10 became the point. Moved to the 4 and collected at least twice there. Nice promo.

Since I have done a poor job of organizing group gaming for this trip, I thought I would just post my current thoughts on my own pre-dinner play.
I plan to be at a craps table at MSS about 3:00 or 3:30 and stay until whichever comes first: wipeout, excessive back pain from standing, or 5:00 when I will wander over to 777. I could perhaps be convinced to revise that plan if someone has something better.

Just a short post to acknowledge to the entire forum that AxelWolf made a very generous contribution toward the dinner bill for the WoV 2016 Spring Fling Main Event. Thank you very much Axel!
As part of settling that tab, the Wizard made a definite AP play. I won't describe it here, but if he doesn't provide the details himself (and reasonably soon), then perhaps we should complain that he isn't acting in the spirit of this forum and sharing full info on AP opportunities. ;-)
As DJTB has already reported, many of the group headed to Binion's for after-dinner poker. Others of us followed to the same establishment for craps. Extremely cold table. Only the lone darksider among us (Scottimus) survived very long. The rest of us licked our wounds and slinked back to MSS, where the dice gods were only slightly kinder. At least I am still up a bit for the trip.

I have to admit, the poker was a LOT of fun. It played like a typical 25¢/50¢ home game amongst friends, except for higher stakes, and the damn rake.
After a couple hours, I left at the same time Mike did. Although I busted out and had to reload, I left down $3 overall.
Before leaving, several of us who are doing the walk Sunday decided that we may skip DuPars and eat at the cafe inside Gambler's General Store.
This will be decided when we gather at the craps table in Golden Gate around 9am.
Nite nite...

Sigh, and I got to sit at home with a cranky 2 year old because of the long day with a party aND t ball game adterwards. Now today I am going to start tearing down my front porch to replace it. Boy sounds like I am the real winner of the group.
