This is the first White Castle west of Missouri. I predict this will become the highest grossing fast food restaurant in the country.

Naw. I've had WC, not any better than most
other places. It's because you can't get it
out west. In the 70's Coor's wasn't sold east
of the river. Truckers would buy it out west
and bring it in. When it became available
we all wondered what the big deal was,
it tasted like watered down donkey piss.
I had three bottled beers in the bar, Bud,
Bud Lite, and Coors. We had to restock
the the Bud a couple times a day. The
Coor's about once a week.

Disagree. They are hot, fresh, now, the perfect taste-point of little bun, salt, meat, onion, pickle, one large mouthful or 3 small ones. No ketchup or mustard as they come. Nobody comes close, though several have tried.
PS. Do not bother with them cold. But they microwave/reheat in 30 seconds, if that.

Well, Big Enos was thirsty.

WC is almost completely different from restaurant burgers. I don't think they try to compete with these others; it's really a stretch to even call WC "hamburgers"; they're sliders.

They're burgers. I don't care for their big dry
buns, they overwhelm the burger.
Then again, stoners like pretty much everything when they've got a munch going.

That's a bit over stretch.
As a matter of fact, fast food in Las Vegas not as popular as in the other big cities because there are so many good restaurants in the casinos give away comped/discounted meals.

I'm not a big fan of In and Out. I'm a northeasterner, but in my trips to cali and vegas for my game I have tried In and Out on multiple occasions. Every time I'm disappointed. Its excessively greasy and not even in the tasty way :( Now smash burger on the other hand... Thats one tasty burger. Almost as tasty as a royale with cheese.
In-n-Out Burger don't have squat on White Castle vis-à-vis "Da grease problem."
Admit it, and let's get it straight:
1. you really can't do much to help Casino Royale. And...
2. you can't do much to do any better than In-n-Out Burger for decent fast food.
Quote: beernutsHighest grossing in the country? Higher than McD? I dont know about that. I bet White Castle will be successful out west but not on the McD level.
Highest grossing fast food restaurant, not chain. Basically I think this one location will do more revenue than any other single fast food location.

Terribly sexual comment withdrawn by poster.
I visited my sister in Indy many years ago over Thanksgiving weekend, and I snuck out for WC three times over four days. Wonderful treat. Hot, wet, fresh, oniony, bite-o-goodness. I often get the grocery boxfull, but there's no comparison to the fresh version. It's an acquired taste, fer sure, not for everyone. But neither is Coors, or donkey piss apparently. Each to his own.

You know who drinks Coors? Native Hawaiians.
The whole time I was there, it's the only beer
I ever saw them drink. They almost lived on
the beach, on lifetime welfare, smoking weed
and guzzling Coors 7 days a week.
Worst thing I've ever tasted from a hamburger, in my opinion. The absolute worst.

Like Coors? Coors Light?
Yeah, the tops can be dry. But the bottoms are damn tasty from absorbing the grease.Quote: EvenBobThey're burgers. I don't care for their big dry

Here's what I learned about 50 years ago: take two, throw the tops away, and put the burgers and two bottoms together. Mmmmm. Mighty slidey sliders! 😀
We used to go to the local WC and order about six each and an order of those salty fries.
The best time to go to a WC is after the bars and clubs close. All the drunken patrons, both men and women trying to order is hilarious. You'll enjoy the show.
Just to clarify something. Those buns were NEVER HARD! They were steamed and very soft.

Quote: FatGeezusBeing from NJ, I can remember when the WC burgers were $.08.
As a teen in NJ, I sometimes visited a cheap burger joint, Steer In.
Once after I bought a bag of burgers I happened to look at their outside garbage, and next to the garbage bin somebody had left what to this day I am certain was a pile of skins from an unknown species, looked like dog.
About fifteen skins tied together.
That threw me for a loop, thinking I was about to eat somebodies purloined pooch.
If you get a Bacon, Egg and Cheese - the ingredients are literally in that order in terms of amount. I used to go to the Middlesex County College, right down the street from the one in Highland Park. Every time I pass by the area I think about stopping, but it's ridiculously unhealthy.
Basically - it's what White Castle burgers should be. Not that I'm knocking on White Castle. I'm just saying.
Quote: Boney526Any of you guys in Jersey really oughta try the White Rose System. Their burgers are similar to White Castle, but bigger and better. Their topping sizes are ridiculous.

National Guardsmen would bring Coors back to Mississippi when they did their 2 weeks at Fort Sill, Oklahoma every year.

When you're 84, instead of dying at 82, you
can tell take comfort that denying yourself much
of what you wanted let you live an extra
two years of aches and pains and using
a walker and feeling like crap most of the
time. Congrats.
That thing about eating one side of a menu comes from Minnesota Fats. He said some guys could eat chicken, spaghetti, whatever all day long. He would only bet in going straight down the menu. Not sure if the Wiz ever ate at Pollock Johnny's on THE BLOCK, but one year a 135 lb stripper won the Sausage eating contest.
Anyway Earl had a bet one time. He would eat 100 Little Tavern burgers at a sitting. If he stopped, he had to pay. If he made it to 100 , the bettor had to pay. Hell of a lot of rolls for damn sure. Anyway at 76 Earl slowed down and the guy asked if he wanted to quit. Earl say no way , he was just bored and ordered a milkshake and big fries. The guy then decided to pay for 76 if Earl would call of the bet. Earl accepted.
Real name Earl Maggod, pool hustler and also sold stuff. Like Encyclopedias. Got a lead and was pitching when lady realized he had sold her a set of unbreakable dishes. Several of which were now broken. Earl got her to agree to buy if he could not break one of the dishes, if it broke the set would be free. He sailed a plate into walls, steps, even knotty pine wood paneling before lady gave up.
Dishes has big rounded lip on edge and as long as you hit it there, no problem. Now drop it flat on the dining room table from 6 or 8 inches, LOL, different story !
