Not much on the Strip, if anything at all. I would recommend going to Lake Las Vegas for dinner in the Village, then catching the fireworks over the water.
Quote: JW17I usually go to LV on the 4th, been the last 3 or 4 years. My wife was born on the 4th of July and our anneversary is July 3rd. IMO LV is lame for the 4th. Im not a clubber so that might not mean anything to you. We went 2 years ago to the blue man group and then walked back via the strip. people jam the strip up and you cant walk or get through without bumping in to everyone. Ceasars had a nice show, but again the crowds are stupid.
So if you hate it so much, why do you keep going back? :P
Seriously though, I keep contemplating a Vegas trip this summer, and everyone keeps telling me I'm crazy. "Vegas in the summer? It's 100 degrees at night, are you crazy?" That kind of stuff.

The blackjack/craps tables will be around 71 degrees.

Yeah, but I like to spread the action around, so there will be plenty of walking around outside involved in ANY trip to Vegas for me. If I do make it, the general plan will be to stay inside during the hottest/sunniest hours of the day, and trek around outside after the sun goes down. I have no problem with completely eff'd up sleep schedules (especially in Vegas), so this should be doable.

I do the same thing. I was in Vegas a couple weeks ago- moved around a lot in 105 degree heat. It's not for everyone, but it didn't bother me a bit.

Well I keep going back because I try to stay away from the strip. I always stay at the Platinum, offstrip, and gamle at night next door at the Tuscany.
AS for the heat I live in Phoenix so its not difference to me.
