I am not looking for you or anyone to take a suspension. I am not trying to start trouble or cause friction. But, you can't be serious! You honestly don't think that you do this?

Insult people in a crafty way? Absolutely
not. In fact I go out of way not to. Like

How can YOU even have the gonads to post this? NOBODY skirts the rules, and bates people right up to the line as much as you do.

Agreed. He thought my g/f, who is 31, might look similar to Dame Judi Dench, who is currently 80, because I called her "M" in my trip report. Her first name starts with "M"... Considering how Wiz thinks insulting a "significant other" a worse offense than normal...

And Wiz actually met us! I'm sure he's never met Bob...

Quote: EvenBob

(I'll call her M)

Because she looks like the woman who
plays M in the Bond films?

Quote: tringlomane

At first I assumed that was some "bond girl" character, but after a quick wiki...

I'm 35 dude, lol... It's her first initial to save me typing "my g/f" a bunch of times.

Quote: EvenBob

You don't know the woman who plays M is in the Bond
movies and you're 35? You had to wiki it? Do you live
in a country that has no access to movies for the last
20 years?

More like, I've never cared for James Bond movies and never watched any of them from beginning to end, including both "Casino Royales". I probably should watch the first though since Peter Sellers is generally hilarious. But I do know that Verne Troyer played "Mini-Me" and Michael York parodied "M's" role, Basil Exposition in "Austin Powers"...watching him in "Logan's Run" was interesting too...*shrug*

What can I say, my knowledge of James Bond movies is akin to LarryS's knowledge of Floyd Mayweather.

Just looks like a misunderstanding with EB's typical bluntness. But maybe it's 'cause I'm used to listening to him and don't even notice from what is his normal demeanor seems to be most of time. Er, crotchety, that is. He's rarely anything else, as far as I can tell.

I guess I can sort of tell when EB is happy, but it's only that he's not as crotchety as usual.

I have no idea how old a lot of people on the forum are, unless they've given some obvious clue to their age, (or just given their age)

This is typical of EvenBob (again please suspend me if this is NOT the truth), but we both have been on the forum long enough where he probably should know I'm not close to his age either, so I don't understand why he even made the comment. And then he questioned the country where I lived since I didn't know offhand who played "M" in James Bond movies from 1995 to 2012, even though it's obvious I'm American from thousands of my other posts.

I dunno if malicious intent was there, but he sure as hell didn't apologize either. If I was in the same spot, I would at least say "I'm sorry." Oh wait, I wouldn't have got myself in that spot in the first place.

By the way, I didn't bring this up at the time because I figured mods wouldn't do anything about it. But since Bob wrote this...

Backing the mods into a corner, good move.
I thought it was a logical (and clever) question.
Marylin or Madonna were never called M, the
only M I knew was from the Bond films. I was
trying to be ironic. Obviously you were young,
why would she look like Judi Dench.

Ironic: commenting in the opposite way to what is expected, and typically causing wry amusement because of this.

Being purposely ironic is an art form, done
correctly. If I'm suspended in the name of
irony, I shall consider it a badge of honor
and serve the suspension in an ironic fashion.

Heh, can't argue with that.

I sure don't want to pretend I know whether EB is up to his challenge.

Suspending the top poster on the forum doesn't look good for the site( Politics).
