Fair enough.

Please start some threads about current casino surveillance.

What is the technology your casino uses?

What procedures do you use to spot AP's?

Please include some info that is not commonly known or available on the 'net, so that viewers can satisfy themselves that you are what you say you are, and not that monkey moron who keeps trying to piss all over the board.

I for one would welcome and follow such threads.

Again, moderators, I don't get why you don't bust people who exceed the post limit on their first day. Don't be overly harsh, just point out the rule and tell them they will be welcome back in a couple of days. Tell them the ban will be for double the days they over-post by the next time, so they need to be careful. Let them back in at the end of the initial ban. If they over-post again, there is a clue. Someone trying to join us for the right reason will more than likely fly straight; someone that likes monkeys, lions, tigers, and bears will probably not do so.

Then use your powers to nail them on the IP stuff...

Perhaps some mods feel the limits are too tight as written because of the 10+number of days thing...maybe allow 5 per day for new members for the first month. Then decent contributors can be part of the conversation but the idiots will not stay under any limit. That would also give you a lot of posts to use for busting bad actors without just letting them do whatever the heck they want.

Quote: beachbumbabs

I'm going to assume you're referring to Dodsferd this time, in making your point about the postings. I clarified I understood this rule before I dissect it here now. Day 1 = 11. Day 2 = 12. Day 3 = 13. etc to day 30. The automatic shutoff was disabled at some point years ago. But the rule resets per day; it's not a total of 40 posts in 30 days.

Dodsferd Day 1 = 6. Dodsferd Day 2 = 10. Dodsferd Day 3 = 2. So he has not abused this rule. However, since he got many questions and hostile posts directed at him, and chose to answer them, I probably would not have faulted him if he had gone over this limit. He's not the only one on here lately who has tried to answer the many questions put to him as a new member, then been accused of over-posting.

Re: his IP and other tracking. No problems in that area, in fact appears to confirm he is who and where he says he is. And not any one else, past or present. It will continue to be monitored, as are all posters.

This immediate jumping on every person who signs up here has got to stop. Not just you, RonC. If you all want to let Bacc79 win the troll game, just keep freaking out on every new member; this forum will dissolve in a vortex of paranoia and hostility, as new people are driven off and regulars are turned off by the constant drama and leave. Instead, let new people who are trolls expose themselves; they can't help it.

This is a discussion of the suspension list, BBB. I am not referring to any particular member at all. I am talking about a rule that is not enforced and how enforcement of it could help stop some of the stuff that has been going on around here. I accused LionB79 of breaking the posting limit, which he did, and I also asked him for pictures to prove that he was anywhere near one of the gambling destinations he met. My opinion is that someone trying to be something they aren't is going to hate the lack of free rein to post as much as they like and get bored and either quit or make a mistake that makes them more quickly identifiable as an intruder. They want attention.

I think you would have to prove you have not been on the Internet in the last couple months. Who you are, doesn't always preclude who you are not. Posting over the border is only mildly interesting, but still not proof of where you can be yesterday or tomorrow.

Carry on. Just my point of view.

Why does he have to prove anything? Why can't he/she just post and if he/she breaks any rules or causes any problems then it gets dealt with.

There's not a heck of a lot about gambling in the top 20 threads that make up the first page. This board has a lot of Diversity Today. :-)

Last six months or so this thread is the main reason I come here.I get to shake my head almost every day. Most everything else is sparring with the admins and the usual know-it-alls and their drivel.

Is he really that disrupting to the forum? He's not that insulting, he's not vulgar and he's actually somewhat polite at times. He's made some good posts and given us some entertainment. I enjoyed the lion457 character. Go Manny! Or was it Moe?

His main "crime" is returning after being banned and flaunting it, much to the chagrin of our overworked administrators. Everyone has the choice of not reading his posts and not engaging him. You can't have it both ways. You can't enable him and then complain and expect something to be done. He's back so often that his new names aren't even even placed on the suspension list.

Is anyone here still in contact with him? I know some have exchanged phone numbers and other information with him. How about one of you give him a call and ask him what's going on? Does anyone here still think he has value? In an odd way maybe he does.

I was one of his earliest and longest supporters. I remembered him from another board and never really knew why he left there; the actions here and the stuff I found on other boards led me to the conclusion it was basically the same stuff on each board. Comes in, great stories (with pictures in many cases), gets in a battle with someone, and all goes bad. As to reproducing himself as multiple folks, I did not see that before but the moderators could have quashed those efforts.

I don't think he is valued or should be welcomed here unless he at least pays off the best that he made. I don't think he would be welcomed back anyway, but he made bets with people and then no showed. That is a terminal offense as far as I am concerned. The least he should have done is apologized before the date of the bets and asked for them to be canceled.

Then there is attack on AoS, a member in good standing. I'm not sure the board could, or should, get over that.

Stretching stories a bit...well, I am betting that happens all of the time, so that part does not bother me too much with the exception of the MGM fire thing. Either you were there or you weren't.

If I had a vote, and if that vote mattered, I wouldn't be in favor of bringing any of his identities back.

You're right. He broke the rules and shouldn't be allowed back until the new owner offers amnesty. Nor should the forum be allowed to be bogged down by this and under no circumstances should new members be treated like public enemy number one because of him.

Remember when Buzzard kept coming back and some thought it was cute? i don't see a difference here.

The problem with B79 is that he tries to show off, while poking at members here. What do you think the TR was (of Lion579)? Surely he wasn't mocking AOS...oh no, of course not! He's just trying to have a good ol' time on the WoV board that he so rightly deserves to be a part of.

/sarcasm

But seriously, I don't think the issue is that he's a troll, annoying, etc. it's the fact that he originally attacked members here (welching on bets, trolled with his weird bacarat stories, did weird sh*t with AOS that I'm still confused about, etc.). By no means should someone be permitted to return from a permanent ban if he keeps coming back and attacking this very community.

His name was Mickey Crimm. He would tell anyone to their face what's what without sneaking around under false ID's.

If Mickey was 79 [he wasn't] he would have already threatened to kick Wizzard's derrier.

All Mickey needed was an editor, and I believe it was offered once or twice. He left under his own volition, of course after being nuked by the sheriff. And that, even hurt the sheriff.

Mickey Crimm with an editor wouldn't have been Mickey Crimm.

I don't think Mickey would threaten to kick Wizard's ass (at least when he was sober). He seemed to appreciate wizard's position and recognize that the problem was his own and of his own making (again, at least when he was sober).

I enjoyed and miss Mickey Crimm and his posts, even the bad ones (entertainment value). Of all the people that have exited the site due to behavior 'problems' and rules violations, Mickey Crimm is the one, that I really wish we could some how find a way to make it work.

You're right but that didn't stop her from getting banned. I recall that the ban was because of a dust up between her and the Wizard after they met at a strip casino. An argument ensued over money (who could have seen that coming) and he banned her from the site. That probably couldn't happen today.

Poor Jennifer. Nobody understood her - or did they.

I have a curved metal post, shaped something like a question mark. I stand it in my yard next to my patio and hang a hummingbird feeder from the tip.

I call the post my "Nixon", explaining that it's not really a crook, but it looks a bit like one*. It's possible that this description is slightly relevant to a recent question, but I'm not sure.

Could also try a token credit card charge (1 cent) for all new accounts. You'd get real ID info for each new member. No way to fake that sort of thing without engaging in credit card fraud. Losers like this typically have loser friends but it's unlikely they would all be willing to lend their credit card details to him.

My credit card info has probably been stolen by the Chinese and Russians anyway. What's one more? Heh.

Best post in a while, but wouldn't cover those (1 in particular) who are already here and complain about how the site is run, while unwilling to put up the money to buy it and be king.

I like your thinking.

Unfortunately they wouldn't want to stop new members from joining.

They should put back the limited number of pots one can make. If a legit person really has that much to say or add, then I'm sure someone can privately verify if they are legit.

I really think the forum should have different levels of verified status perhaps various icons in their profile.

Example. X member has paid all pending bets. X member has been to a WOV meet up. X member is a former WSOP champion. X member is a verified casino employee.
X member drives a Gay Miata (-:

Someone like AOS is a verified Attorney, verified mid lever BJ player(30 losses in a row not verified), and makes good on bets(not sure if he has made any bets however I would risk it)

I find it interesting that a lot of our new members have the same posting scheduled.

I don't understand what you mean, Axel. Could you elaborate?
