We look forward to seeing you in the Private Club!
Best regards,
FWIW I did sign up just for the hell of it (used a throwaway email and password just to be safe). I checked the "Blackjack" section. Only one thread; guy asking for a good book to learn how to count cards. First reply points him at John Patrick's website. So, ummmm. Yeah! Probably not going to be hanging out around there much.
Impressive domain name though. I wonder how much they paid for it.
Quote: BozIsn't this against the sharing of PM rules? :)
LQTM, I didn't even think about that! Given the content of the PM, and the fact that the user clearly exists on this board solely to solicit membership to their board, I'm not too worried about it. Technically I did break the letter of the law so I guess if I get a slap on the wrist suspension of a few days, I can't be upset. But I would hope the mods understand my motive for posting here. In context I am trying to help the board, not hurt it by posting this PM. I could have summarized it, but really I'm curious how many others are getting the same PM. It happened soon after I posted, so I'm guessing they have a script or bot scraping the recent posts page for usernames.

Yes I was concerned about getting scammed, hence the throw-away creds. After being on the inside it does not look like a scam, just a poorly-executed plan and a board with very few posters as of yet. To be fair they just launched, so maybe it will get better?
old lame people I've seen on other gambling
forums for the last 10 years. They keep
starting new forums in the hope that somebody
will spill the beans about the Holy Grail by accident.
Yawn..
Posting this PM is not something that I would consider to be the breach of WOVs rules, since this is clear case of spam.
And I thank you for bringing this to our attention.
Please let me know their user name ( via Pm )
EDIT:
changed the threads title so not to give them any unnecessary exposure. Also killed the link from the OPs post.
cheers

Might want to remove the website name in the emails signature if you are not wanting unnecessary exposure...

Site policy is that if you want to use this site to promote your own business interests, especially for new members, get admin approval first.
Judging by the common IP as inv, the new guy is "invitation," who I just nuked as well.
I never get invited to the private cool kids clubs =/.

The same guy who said "I've had a perfectly wonderful evening. But this wasn't it."

You can join by invitation only, which will
be a big drawback. A gambling forum needs
a constant influx of new people to make it
interesting.
I joined a couple months ago but haven't
posted yet. I know some of these guys
from other gambling forums. So far nothing
earth shattering has happened there, same
old talk about theory, not much rubber
meets the road action. Yawn.

It's invite only and only the best of the best are invited. If you are "worthy" they will let you in. Yet, one of the first topics in the Blackjack forum was "What's a good book to learn how to count cards?" Wow, that's a high level post. Very impressed with the best of the best already.

Gambling experts have had a fantasy since
the 90's that if they could only bring the
best minds together, they could beat casino
games. Problem is, gamblers are also very
greedy and if they do find something, they
sure as heck aren't going to 'share' it. A
secret in not a secret for long in the gambling
world if it gets out.

Greedy or smart business people protecting their living? Perhaps McDonalds is greedy since they don't share their recipes.

You have to be greedy or you'll lose. That's
why what the gambling people have is fantasy.
They think if they pretend it's 'all for one and
one for all' that they will get some poor sot
to talk too much and they'll pounce on the
guy like a cat on a mouse.
Quote: Dalex64I think the most unbelievable thing about it is that EvenBob isn't their #1 poster. ;)
They have nothing to say that I want to hear.
I posted with those people for years, their
well is dry.

It's obvious they don't have just the greatest minds in gambling as members.

"for long" ??? "in the gambling world" ???
How about just "A secret is not a secret if it gets out?"
