Rob Singer, hands down, has been the most prolific troll of the gambling forums in the lastt ten years. Rob's has all the charistics described in the article. Alan Mendelson has stated that he asked Rob, face to face to quit the trolling. Rob's response was "I can't." I truly believe that Rob can't help himself, that his behavior is compulsive. He is to be pitied more than anything else.

You see these people all the time on movie
sites like IMDB. They will take a great
movie that has mostly positive reviews
and just savage it and everybody who gave
a good review. These are very unhappy
people and that's their outlet, bringing misery
into other peoples lives.

Louis CK described trolling and other internet anti-social behaviour very well. It's because there is no emotional, body language feedback. You upset someone online, and you don't get to see directly that they've been hurt or upset or annoyed or angry by your words. Words you wouldn't say to their face.
Of course, the more sociopathic people don't give two hoots about your reaction in person or otherwise. Other's get that sadistic glee of rattling cages to elicit a response. But many of those probably wouldn't do it in person more than once if they saw the emotional reaction. And that is slightly worrying as we have a generation of people (I'm a very early example, I'd guess) who have more and more social interaction via the internet. Learning real interaction skills, the basics, aren't going to be there as much.

My favorite part of this study is that it came out at roughly the same time that the US Department of State created a twitter account specifically to troll terrorists.

And you fell for it.Quote: mcallister3200The irony of evenbob's post is killing me.
It was the perfect example of cleaver insult baiting. somewhat like what Hotblonde did(im not saying it was intentional. she may have just been looking for a white night situation).
Bob's was much, much more devious and clever.
It would be like me saying, people can't type worth a crap on this forum.

Anyone who "trolled" Inception are actually correct in their views.
Are you my nephew?Quote: Lemieux66Anyone who "trolled" Inception are actually correct in their views.
When he told us that Inception was such a bad film, he didn't understand a thing, we immediately bought the DVD. Very good move we did. One of the best films EVER.
I know it sounds like insults, but actually you can use what people say of their film/book tastes in order to assess their IQ... And vice versa.

Not at all. I didn't care about any of the characters. I had no reason to. None of them were interesting and I didn't care that they went people's dreams to do work. Graphics are meaningless if you don't care about the story.

On another point, as any regular player will know, casinos can be hostile places, not only do you have to aware of those around you, full of crims, you are usually up against jealous dealer envious of you betting far more than they earn, spiteful pit-bosses who treat the chips as their own and the under-hand tactics they employees to throw off successful gamblers. It can literally feel like a war zone and not for the thin skinned for the professional players. So why are forums expected to be so lovey dovey and refrain from using swear words when it is acceptable in most casinos. Aren't members here players, or a bunch of nerds, it is 2014 not 1962.
This is a gambling forum, supposedly for those that gamble, gambling is viewed by many as worst than prostitution, stop trying to pretend everything is all above ground, fair and honest. That everybody should be nice and respectful to each other, not allowed to drop the odd F___ bomb, it is not reflective of the "real world" nor would i have thought the audience this forum is catering too.
