Hey all, was talking whit a friend from work about sports pools. And trying
To determin the exact number of tickets or sheets one would need to fill out In order to have every possable outcome covered. For example if there's 12 hockey games on a Saturday night to have every combination covered to ensure a winning ticket what would the formula be? Can't be a simple team x team if a either home or visitors win is the once outcome is it? Can't be as easy as 12x12=144 tickets required to ensure a winner is it?
Cheers thanks all

Do you need to be right on all 12 games in order to win? Is this NHL and not college so that ties are impossible? If so, I think you have a 1:(2^12)=1:4096 chance of being correct on any one ticket. I think it also takes 4096 tickets to buy every possible combination and ensure a winner.

It's a pool that's country wide so perfect score is more than likely the only way to win/split it. It's a straight win no tie or spread to figure out just x amount of games one winner per game. Doesn't matter the sport it's 1 winner no ties. Either a home win or visitor win,
Cheers
