How do I disable email notification, but keep thread subscription on?

That's the same thing.
Subscription MEANS you want email notification.

OK, but if I don't subscribe, then to see all my threads I have to click on my name and see all threads I've created. This is unlike most forums; you can choose what type of subscription you want usually.

I'd consider creating a new email address just for subscription notifications. That way, the threads will remain in your "thread subscriptions" page here, but the notifications won't fill up the inbox on your primary email account.
