question 9/6 jacks i/40,000 hands to hit royal does this mean hands played by player or hands played into the poker machine by all players leading to the royal?

The machine has no memory of past hands. On each new hand, the odds of getting a royal ON THAT HAND are 1:40000. It really doesn't matter how many hands have passed since the last royal, or who has been playing the machine.
