Ah, I was a moment to late =P. I also commented in your other thread. I'm glad you liked the trip report, and yes, hopefully some better variance next time!

4. The link you've copied from the picture site. Paste that into your post here. Before it, type [ IMG= (but leave out the space between [ and IMG). After your paste, type a ] . No spaces in any of that. (we're typing it that way to let it show in the post. without the spaces, it becomes instructions and goes invisible.)
To copy something, click and drag over it so it highlights. Right-click and select "copy" from the menu that shows up,
To paste something, put your cursor in the box like you were writing a post. Instead, right-click and select "paste" from the menu that shows up.
Also, if you go back to your last post and click "edit", you'll see exactly how it's done - you copied a picture in Art's post.

Thanks BBB. Reading your answer sounds like Swedish to me. But I know someone who speaks Swedish that can show me how.

Hey Johnnie, I break down step #4 into the simplest terms per your request:
Quote: ArtemisHey Johnnie, I break down step #4 into the simplest terms per your request:
Hey Artemis. Thank you! You probably think I didn't appreciate yours and others helpful posts. I just had to ask someone how to interpret it. I was able to insert a link to a photo into a post (which I then deleted). But I'm not sure how to post the photo itself. Specifically, in the help section they show imbedding codes, or what are examples of imbedding codes. How do I get the code into a post? Do I just type it in, character for character? And if I copy and paste the link to the photo into the imbedding code will that do nothing since I'm copying a link to the photo and not the photo itself?

Hey Johnnie, sure. Just type in the embedding codes if that's easier for you. You said you were able to insert a photo link into a post. That's it. You are 90% done.
In order to finish up, you just type:
[lMG=
infront of your photo link like this: [lMG=http://i.imgur.com/t3No8op.png
then you type:
]
at the back of your photo link like this: http://i.imgur.com/t3No8op.png]
When you're done, your completed embedding codes look like this: [lMG=http://i.imgur.com/t3No8op.png]
You just hit the "preview" button to look at your photo. That's it. I hope you get it this time.
If you still don't know how to embed a photo into a post after this, then just give me your photo link. I will embed it for you later.

Well I spent about an hour paying my dues. Been playing around with this about an hour (on a few tries the last couple days). I can get the "link" to the photo into message, but when I place the link into the imbedding code what appears on the post is a small empty square. And when you click on the square nothing happens.

Eureka!!!! I was starting to think this was The Twilight Zone. Spent another hour in Imgur Hell. Finally went to Tiny pic. Brought over the pic but had to clean up the characters to be like the embedding code.
The Pic is of my dog Sticker. Up in Bishop, CA., 5-14.

Hey Johnnie, I'm at your service. You're in the right track. Your photo link is a bad one ("unlinkable"). That's why a small empty square showed up instead of your photo. Just try to get another GOOD photo link & try to embed your photo again.
Meanwhile, I'm giving you a GOOD photo link. You can practice on it.
Here is a Father Fahey's photo link:

Father Fahey's story
Johnnie, you'll get it as long as you keep on trying. Don't quit.
Thank you Artemis!!!
I got so close, several times and ran out of hair on my head. The clinker, just like John was I didn't understand it because I was doing everything just like John and getting the little box.
Just needed a good link, whew.
Thanks to the others that tried to help me as well.
An analog man in a digital world.
Edit: Yep. I was able to copy and paste a photo on the Gambling Trivia thread. I guess that posting in a thread that is part of a quote that includes a Spoiler--that's going to require HTML 102. (I'll tackle that next semester.)
Quote: GreasyjohnWell I'm trying to post my second pic. I go to Tinypic and there's my photo. What do I do with it? The first (and only) photo I posted was just hit or miss. Do I copy it? Save it? I tried both and when I go to post it, and hold down my curser (iPhone) I get the spoiler from the guy who's post I'm trying to answer. Why does his spoiler show up? What exactly is the procedure to get the photo to post, please? Maybe the key is not to post a photo when I'm posting as part of a quote that includes a spoiler.

Good luck with that. We can't even edit a blog response. Make a mistake and live with it.

I think that's it. Perhaps it's best if you have to live here for awhile before you are allowed to post pics, I think pics requires 'links' to pics. The great green ones are trying hard, really they are.Quote: Dalex64It is possible that, as a member with a limited number of posts, urls are being stripped from the messages.
Tell us about the pic, in excruciating detail. Take a number of posts to describe it fully and properly. Fend off some abrasive comments from the gang that runs the joint. It's OK to get mad, just don't get insulting. Next thing you know we're in the middle of summer and you can link to any pictures you like (well, not really). But then you can prolly show us this one anyway!
And welcome aboard mate!
OK, a dealt Royal, for your wife! What suit?Quote: oldbudmanAppreciate all the help. You are right about the very limited number of posts. I enjoy reading others posts and don't respond. The picture I was trying to post was of a "dealt" royal flush my wife got this past Friday at MSS in Las Vegas. It was actually her second royal in 2 days. Needless to say a very enjoyable flight back to Texas yesterday. Again thanks for everyone's help.
Oh, she had another Royal as well, in two days? Was that dealt, or a draw? What suit? Don't tell us she got DEALT 2 Royals of the same suit while you were working your 'Roulette System'. Say it ain't so! And save your pic, I want to see it ;-)
<edit> And flight back to Texas you say. Doubly sweet. The forum needs, hell the whole world needs, we need us some more Texans!
I hadn't posted a photo in a long time and so reread this thread and figured it out. Sort of. I'm pretty confident that I can take a photo and then post it. Older photos that are on my IPhone or in the cloud or saved images... I don't know so much.
