Hi
Life time fan of the wizardofodds, life time casino employee, and a new member here today – not sure if someone can help me with a question. A casino I sometimes play at recently offered a unique promotion where a jackpot total was won if both you and the dealer got a blackjack on the same hand. However the dealer’s cards had to be suited. Can anyone calculate the odds for that? I would not know where to start!
(The promo ran for 2 weeks and the jackpot was not won)
Thanks!

I got (32*32)/416C2 * (31*127)/414C2 = 1/1830.5
might be a typo/ fat digiit.

I'm surprised it wasn't hit. I'll use 1 in 1839 for my calcs. One player has a 50% chance of hitting this in 1275 hands. Surely many more hands than that were played in 2 weeks. Even at one table a few players could play this many in a day.

Does the players BJ have to be the same suit as Dealer BJ? I have seen that type of promo before.
The odds would be much greater for that.

At my age, a "Life In Prison" sentence is not much of a deterrent.

I'm the one that fat fingered. Had 415 instead of 414. Fixed earlier post.
And if they both had to be:
Suited: (1008640/7308369120) or 1 in about 7245.765704
Same suited: (222208/7308369120) or 1 in about 32889.76599
Suited exact(both hands exactly the same): (50176/7308369120) or 1 in about 145654.6779
