Hello, Thank you in advance for generously giving me your knowledge. I was wondering if I started with a $20 unit and played for an hour and things pretty much went perfectly for me how much could I leave with without the amount calling attention to the fact that I am card counting?

I like to leave after they have to fill the tray a few times.
Different casinos have different pain points. At some places you can leave with 5 figures and they won't bat an eye. At others they will watch you like a hawk if you bet a green chip.

Generally it isn't the amount you win that flags you as a card counter. The biggest giveaway is the amount you spread your bets. If you go from betting a single $20 unit to playing two hands of 8 units that would be a pretty obvious sign. It all really depends on the casino and how well trained their staff is.
At my age, a "Life In Prison" sentence is not much of a deterrent.

Thank you Drich. If I spread my bets pretty gradually. Say something like $20, then raising up to 30, then 45, then 65, then 100 on winning hands when there is a plus count do you think that would most of the time be safe?

Depends on the game and casino.
Spreading 1-5 will not beat most games. This is particularly true if you only raise your bets on winning hands (this is an extremely expensive form of cover)

Thanks, that sounds pretty logical. How high would you spread and should I just increase my bet a unit whenever the true count goes up one?

You'll go broke if you just bet your edge. You'll also be easy to figure out by the cameras if you keep a strict pattern.
10 eyes for an eye. 10 teeth for a tooth. 10 bucks for a buck?! Hit the bad guys where it hurts the most: the face and the wallet.
