What about all the locals joints like Dotty's, The Longhorn, The Cannery, The Alamo, The Double Down, The Bighorn, The Silver Sevens.... I could go on and on. Those places don't need air traffic to reopen. Why the hell are they still shut down?

They're shut down because the Governor and the NGC wants them shut down.

My point exactly.

Makes one wonder if size fits all approach is being slammed down by corrupt politicians bought off by the big guys?

The big guys can't open profitably with out nightclubs, pool parties, conventions and resort fee's etc... that makes sense. Are they ensuring that all the small guys can't open either just out of pure greed, not wanting to loose market share and the likes???

After touring Vegas first hand I am beginning to believe this is the case. I dearly hope to be proven wrong ASAP!

I don't think large strip or downtown casinos would be overly concerned if off strip casinos got a bit of a head start. They are unlikely to steal Strip visitors long-term. But in terms of fairness, most NV casinos should be permitted to open around the same time, imo.

I totally hear you on fairness tringlomane. I just feel that putting anyone possible back to work trumps fairness in this situation. Is it truly fair to equally spread misery just for the sake of fairness?

Can you point to a link where you get that info about homeless and rampant disease spread

I was homeless for two years in NYC which has thousands of homeless and I never contracted a disease during that time. Maybe a common cold if that

I'm not sure exactly what you're looking for
but you might want to read this.

What are most likely off strip casinos for permanent closure or sale? Eastside Cannery, Fiesta Rancho, Rio, Rampart, Palms all seem like candidates.

MGM has announced their plan. The first two Vegas resorts to open will be Bellagio and NYNY because they expect to have the required 50% o occupancy there first.

Major resorts need an economy of scale to open.

For that matter, I know of few dentists who will open an office to see only one patient on Wednesday.

Wife is a dentist. They are allowed to be open now, but only for emergencies. Emergencies tend to take longer than elective procedures and tend to pay less, and of course are not predictable. So most practices are closed around here. If a practice had 10 offices they are maybe keeping two open with limited hours as well.

Patients are of course upset if their dentist is not open to take care of them. But the owner/dentist will clearly be paying more than they collect unless they get a reasonable schedule.
