Guess if you're starting to think you are sick, you can post here.
Yet for all I know I've been dodging this and that situation near at hand where I could have got it and will be hearing soon about more folks around here and I've just been lucky.
I've already forgotten if someone here at WoV said they have it - I seem to remember someone saying they might have it. He might post again in this thread - I hope. And of course you, ONM, are saying you're wondering.
Quote: odiousgambitFYI don't know a single soul, friend or relative, who has claimed to know "anyone who has claimed to know anyone" who has gotten the virus. That's kind of remarkable but may show our forced isolation is working. In our county, two people who had been overseas and came back, made the news - they have it.

Of course I'm wondering, I have a low-grade fever, but that doesn't mean much, but it means more than nothing at all. I'm using an old-fashioned mercury thermometer, so you can be sure of the accuracy. I have heard of people around here being sick in the ICU, our close friend who works as a nurse is confirmed to have it, he just says he is tired. That's the way it is, you don't see the dominoes until a whole bunch have fallen. The sick are out there. I would love to have it and get through, just so I know I don't have to worry and I can be free no matter what.
I am in NYC so self-quarantined, besides there is nothing to do or go anyway. The corner Bodega is open so I make a visit every few days
Unfortunately I have a team member who is Ill with it however he is young. He informs me he is past the worst of it after two weeks of barely being able to breathe
I also know someone else who is recovering too but their live-in Aunt died from it.
Quote: darkozI don't show any symptoms beside a very mild sore throat. That could be anything

You are not supposed to go anywhere if you think you MAY be sick. I'm out of smokes and I'm not going to get any because of it. I have a mask(not very good) and gloves, but I'm not going anywhere. I could have someone get them or have someone bring them to me, but I'm not going to.

I don't think I am sick. No symptoms besides a sore throat which is any myriad possible causes.
Anyway I did say I only go to the Bodega every few days
For those who don't live in NY that's a Spanish form of deli/grocery store common on street corners. I need to restock supplies and not starve to death.
BTW the local Bodegas did not seem to have any type of run on their products. My local one is pretty well stocked. Even toilet paper

Well, in the U.S., the country with currently the most number of cases, barely over 100,000 people are confirmed to have it. That's one in 3,300 people. I barely know a few dozen people, and only talk to handful of them on a regular basis, so I'm not surprised at all that I don't know anyone that's confirmed to have it. I know plenty of people (myself included) that have had some kind of symptoms, but since it's currently flu and allergy season, those are probably the most likely culprits.
Free to do what? Hang out at the local grocery store?Quote: onenickelmiracleMy tongue is starting to feel dry and gluey, I probably have it, that's great so far. I'm not staying in if I recover. I'll either be dead or a free man in 2 weeks.

Yes. Edited: I woke up.
One of my team members I reported was very sick and finally got her results back at the hospital. She had trouble breathing, dizzy, headaches and body aches
She tested negative for Coronavirus. She has had a serious allergic reaction to a high blood pressure medication she was prescribed
So don't assume and please don't self-diagnose

My overall goal is not to be sick enough with anything to have to need to go to a hospital, not just coronavirus. *
A really overly busy hospital is probably not the safest place for being sick right now. More time not being seen, probably more errors.
Sucks she had to go to the hospital, and possibly pick it up by finding out she doesn't have it.Quote: darkozSo be wary that not everything is Coronavirus

She was pretty bad. She stood home three days before finally going
Her high blood pressure was over 200 I think.
Exactly. Now that everyone is stuck at home, it’s a great time to focus on overall health. Eat real nutritious food, get some exercise even if it’s just push-ups and walking, soak up some sunshine/natural vitamin D, get a solid 8 hours of sleep every night. There’s no better better recipe for a strong immune system IMO. The last thing you want to do right now is go to a medical facility for any reason .Quote: rxwineMy overall goal is not to be sick enough with anything to have to need to go to a hospital, not just coronavirus. *

Quote: onenickelmiracleSeems I'm either not sick with COVID or I'm asymptomatic for now. I'd rather have been sick, so I could get through it and not worry about getting sick or infecting others. Exhausting resources feeling stagnant, terrible. 2020 was supposed to be a breakthrough, not a breakout.
Very soon, if not already, you'll be able to get a simple blood test to determine if you had it (positive for antibodies) or not.

So correct me if I am wrong
If positive and asymptomatic then I have been exposed and have developed immunities. I can go anywhere
If negative then either:
A) I don't have it but could still contract it and get sick/die so still need to quarantine
B) I do have it but within the last 14 days and have not yet developed anti-bodies. I may still get sick and still need to quarantine
Is that pretty much a correct assessment?
We know two other people who have tested negative. That's it for us.
My wife is now on 3 weeks of not leaving the house/property and zero physical contact with people other than me. I have left the house 6 times in those 3 weeks - to buy booze or groceries or for restaurant food pickup.

I believe your first sentence to be true, but that is not 100% certain yet.
A is 100% true
B is not clear, to me at least. I do not know the timing of developing antibodies that would be detected by the blood test available.
I (nor anyone yet I would guess) would know what level of antibodies would be needed to guarantee immunity.
Here are two stories - I was going to quote from them but I think you just need to read them
