Encore Boston Harbor reported $59.7 million, down 2.9%. MGM Springfield $22.8 million. Plainridge Park reported $14.2 million up 3.2%. Plaza casino launches live-dealer streaming channel
Nevada (Las Vegas) - Danzis/ Velotta, Review-Journal - The Plaza hotel-casino has debuted the Vegas Live Casino Network, which allows viewers to watch gamblers in Las Vegas play a variety of games, including roulette, blackjack, baccarat and slots. The channel streams live video from the non-smoking area of the Plaza casino floor seven days a week. Asia (Macau) - Pierce Chan, Inside Asian Gaming - China’s nine-day Chinese New Year “Golden Week” concluded on Monday. Based on preliminary data released by the authorities, Macau recorded approximately 1.55 million visitor arrivals over the holiday period, averaging about 172,000 visitors per day. Maryland (legislation) - David McKee, CDC Gaming - The Maryland Legislature is set on Wednesday to hear testimony on the purported need for historical horse racing machines (HHRs). It would permit HHRs at the Free State’s six casinos, the Maryland Fairgrounds, four OTBs, and racetracks. GOP state Sen. Paul Corderman is optimistic, saying, “There is definitely interest. Casino revenue rises 5.7% in January
Florida (results) - Charlotte Capewell, CDC Gaming - Florida’s eight commercial casinos generated $63.2 million in January, up 5.7% year-over-year. Magic City Casino recorded the highest revenue and year-over-year rise in January, up 19.3% to $14.3 million. Private-sector entities interested in such an IR idea, are being asked to submit opinions. The submission period opened on Wednesday (February 25) and runs until March 19.
