Fair enough.
How about a monthly news thread instead of a daily one.
This way its length will be limited but not flooding daily with new threads.
MAY'S MONTHLY GAMBLING NEWS has some appeal, yes?
I think what is most annoying is that you are just posting links without giving YOUR opinion on any of the stories you are posting.
Quote: MDawgWhy not just find a thread where that casino is being discussed in a thread that relates to the news, and add to that thread.
Or at least post it in the sub-forum that relates to that casino, if there is no applicable existing thread.
My original suggestion stands, that he search for existing threads on the casinos or topics that relate to the individual stories, and then post the link within an existing thread. Someone else suggested as well that he comment as well on each news story, but again, regardless, I'd like to see the news post within an existing thread, as it relates to an existing casino or topic. But, I understand, that would be a lot more work. The way it is now, flooding a post/thread with multiple news stories, if it leads to any comments at all is going to lead to multiple unrelated discussions bouncing within the same thread.
On the other hand, I shudder to think of his creating a new thread daily for every news story. So if he is just going to post in a new thread daily, let it be just one thread.

Thanks MDawg,
Yes, It would be a lot more work.
OK, let it be just one thread.
This forum software just doesn't lend itself to too many threads being created daily as it overpowers the other new threads.
Quote: MDawgI think part of it is this forum software. What is it anyway? I assume it is some kind of free software but it sure ain't no vbulletin or xenforo. It is partly because of this very limited forum software that about all we have going is the "Recent Threads" section as far as trying to figure out quickly what might be new.
This forum software just doesn't lend itself to too many threads being created daily as it overpowers the other new threads.
The forum software/framework is custom from scratch. JB wrote it, with the Wizard, a decade ago.
One of the tools we don't have is a Merge. I can't join threads or combine them or anything, really, except delete or split them. If I could, I would have stacked many of those individual threads together under one of the Casino News threads we already have.
If it is custom then uploading the database into vbulletin or xenforo may not be an option...so updating what we got might be the only way to go from here.

The move – which takes place Wednesday – is the first reversal in the trend that began in 2016, when MGM Resorts International began charging for parking at its Las Vegas Strip resorts. Caesars Entertainment, Tropicana Las Vegas, and the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. Wynn followed suit in July 2017.

Gambling regulators in Louisiana, New Jersey and Massachusetts have some big issues on their plates and no one is quite sure what to expect. Big issues in regulation are not uncommon in gaming. Casino gaming is a highly regulated industry and regulators play very prominent roles. As conditions change and the industry evolves, regulators are faced with adapting to new circumstances and that can be challenging.
