this is a new forum feature , so no longer you have to quote and +1 , instead you can simply give a thank you.
cheers

Fantastic addition. We've been looking for something like that for years. We'll done!

This looks good....
Is there any way to get it so that first posts are sequestered in some way for moderator approval as a way of beating the damned kitchen people?
If the avatar is the only way to see who thanked somebody for something, perhaps this feature should be limited to those members that have a custom avatar.
Or, make it so that if you touch an avatar, it tells who it was. Or everybody's name
Edit: I now see that on my iPhone, if I hold my finger on an avatar, the save image dialog box does show me the users name.
Quote: PaigowdanYou can donate a thanks semi-anonymously.....and thankfully, there's no Bird button, as I'd get slammed.....
You got that right! You and the Bi-assed dice crew!
Quote: onenickelmiracleIt causes problems in my opinion. People either feel compelled to click it to show support or out of sympathy and others feel outcast if not getting approval. It dumbs down the forum.
Do you feel compelled against your will or do it out of sympathy, or is it just everyone else that this applies to?
I thanked someone a couple days ago. I felt nothing more than thanks for a solid post. How did that dumb anything down?

It turns everything into a popularity contest. Some people don't need to realize they're the weakest link unless Mission declares it so. I feel the pressure to click, sometimes out of sympathy, and to include other posts once I participate. Vsauce says liking is like a digital applause, and applause is often group behavior, feeling the compulsion to give in. I clicked a few times already as soon as I saw the button, but am probably going to opt out and not click thank you on anything. Plus ones are kind of rare, unless Axel is posting. He quotes everything.Quote: Zcore13Do you feel compelled against your will or do it out of sympathy, or is it just everyone else that this applies to?

+1
1 shows as new information. Also that it's just icons, and many people have the default silhouette, so it means nothing.
That said, I don't want to be rolled back to the latest thank you in an already read post. I just don't plan on using the feature much. But it's hard to know what people agree with this way , so don't be surprised if it leads to some misunderstandings down the road, at least with me..

we will look into this

This is solved :)

Confirmed, after a few likes & unlikes. Works like a charm. I think.
Found a bug maybe sorta.
When I try to "like" my own post, it unlikes the one before it. :(
wizardofvegas.com/thank-you/564804/2/ unlikes my previous like on post 564801. :( :(
Can you post screenshot so I could see what's happening
It should do nothing when you try to like your own post. I tried it and it all seems fine. Can you check it again and post screenshot
Thanks

It works now -- doesn't un-thankyou the previous post anymore when you try to thank-you your own post.
I was just typing in the URL.

How the heck are you getting a "Thank You" option on your own posts. It doesn't show as an option for me.
