Well, so much for my theory.

The decisions-per-hour numbers must make sense to the casino. Also, they don't have to pay for croupiers.

Those machines have a new spin about every 50sec.
With multiple players on one setup, they can easily
produce as much as a couple slot machines.

On the subject of electronic table games that speed up play, check out this monstrosity from China -- the Fujia Baccarat Machine:
Needless to say, passing the shoe and bending the cards are out of the question. There also doesn't appear to be enough room to fill in scorecards.

More than that, I think. I should stress I'm talking about quasi-slots here, like VP machines, not Roulette Evolution.
(Although there is an automated sic bo table that looks a lot like Roulette Evolution.)
No card bending for Asian women, no cards to rip up for Asian men? How is this possible ? !

They tried one of those RNG bac machines in a local
casino and the Asian players ignored it. In 2 months
it was gone.
They've twice had video table machines. Almost 2 years ago they had 4 of those virtual dealer machines each with 5 seats (1 roulette, 1 craps, 2 BJ). That lasted 6 months. Then almost a year ago they brought in those Organic hybrid machines (baccarat, roulette, sic bo), where the betting is electronic but they use real dice/cards/wheel under a bubble. Again, lasted 6 months.
Quote: heatherAny idea what the Newport Room table maximums are, at least for big table Baccarat? Is the room always open? I didn't see table limits on their site anywhere.
I was in the Newport Room this morning and I remembered your question.
The room is always open but not all the tables. The big tables were removed several years ago and what remains is Mini Bac and Midi Bac. Table limits on the Midi Bac are $100 minimum and $15,000 maximum with a $2,000 maximum on the tie. You may play Macau style on request with a $200 minimum. Players requesting more than the table max will be accommodated.
A pit boss told me that they would even dig a big table out of storage if given enough action. He also said that $100,000 wouldn't come close.

I'm sorry for my ingnorance, but what is, "Macau style"?
Quote: heatherI don't already belong to their player's club and don't know if I like the idea of spending $700/night on a room.
You can get a room on property on the weekends for $200/night after taxes if you know where to look.
