Mount airy, here I come!
Thanks

I didn't like when put in the side bets, but those traps can be avoided.
I presume by memorial day it will be mandated on all tables throughout the casino.

Let's hope so. To hell with the counters and all their hype. Just deal out a great (.20%) BS game and put the stake in the heart of the counters real or imagined.

I'm a regular at Sands, but if this a taste of things to come, I'll be heading back to mt. Airy!
Quote: thegov2k2I was at Sands a week and a half ago, and the only shuffle machines I saw were the ones that shuffle an entire shoe at once. This is not a CSM, in the traditional "evil" sense.
Logically, I think you are wrong. The fact that a machine shuffles the cards vs. a human takes away the element of human influence on the shuffle. You would be amazed at the tricks people can do with their hands, even under the close watchful eye of "surveillance".

I'm pretty sure the point of the post was to mention that the games are no longer able to be counted. I don't think the point of the post was the supposed "human influence".

While you may be correct in logical progression, there remains the argument that there is no difference between machine shuffled shoes vs. continuous shuffle machines. Card counters are easily spotted by experienced pit crews and for the most part, obviously, they don't care if you count unless you win. I doubt the Sands in PA has many winners via counting. Look at the "riots" in Baltimore to get your typical customer profile. The conclusion is once again speed wins the casino money.
I do not disagree that speed wins the casino money. If I operated a casino, I would have machines shuffle the cards. I'm pretty sure you would too.
It speeds up the game, the countability risk is essentially removed and the inspectors can concentrate on other games. Interestingly some higher stakes games still use shoes, but then they have an inspector watching the game.
