What?
RS, you couldn't even read and dissect the article about the racist, rapist, sexist, scam artist and conman Trump's stealing money from charity from another thread. And now this "what" reply of yours is another example showing that you truly have a reading comprehension problem. Your Trumper buddy had displayed his ignorant about the industry and you don't even realize it.
Quote: RSNow this is funny. If you think you're "winning", you're sadly mistaken.
Somebody who says they're "winning" while truly "losing" is what I call "Sheening" named in honor of Charlie Sheen.

So, he's got a history of it, huh? I guess this shouldn't surprise me.

Is "ignorant" being used as a verb here?
Threads that moderators miss are a lot more fun.

Oh my. And now we have the grammar police. I think most people can figure out what he meant (even if it appears you had a problem with it). Is my spelling OK?

And this show that you are smarter RS -- you can read. I sincerely hope you are not as ignorant as all of your Trumper buddies.
Congratulations on your reading skill!

Too many hotels.
Casinos losing to much money on food and beverage.
Casinos charging too much for food and beverage.
TITO games not as fun when no money comes out.
Tribal Casinos.
Nothing to do for families and kids.
Too many family and kid
Airfare prices.
Gas prices.
Resort Fees.
Lower comp values/less free stuff.
Tightening up on free drinks.
Higher table minimums/No $5 games.
Too many side bets.
6-5 Blackjack.
And now parking fees.
Guess what my friends? 95% of people don't care. It's entertainment for them. It's the feel of being there. Many billions of people don't visit this website and have no interest in shaving the house edge, vulturing Ultimate X or paying to park. Hell, half the people there are on business and will get reimbursed for it.
So raising hell here or badgering people at a table and printing flyers about 6-5 Blackjack does nothing at all except get you thrown in the WoV pokey and punched in the face by someone that doesn't want to hear your mouth during his relaxing time.

Quote: MaxPenThe whole reason prostitution is illegal in Clark County is because of the Convention industry.
It might be illegal, but I got soliticited by prostitutes at least four times at a Strip Casino last month. It's because I was male and alone.

I always get hit on by really ugly ones. Often early in the morning too, when I'm getting breakfast. It's as if they missed their quota for the night before...

But that keeps the timeshare people at bay. A fair tradeoff.

For 90% of people, it is entertainment. The 10% where people "Came to gamble" are the degenerates (once in a while, myself) and forum members (different group, mostly) that the casinos care about. The ploppies who gamble a couple of hours a day at slots and 6-5 blackjack (after all when you are playing $10 blackjack for two hours, you are giving up an EV of $14.47, or +/- 1.5 wins/losses) is just icing. The 10% who contribute 50 - 60% to the gaming revenue bottom line are the Platinum/Noir and Diamond/7* at MGM/Caesars are coming and not paying resort fees, parking, nor food and beverage for that matter.
Of the 10% who "come to gamble" it is likely about less than 1% (and over-represented on this site) of those people who know what they are doing. These are the counters, hole-carders, progressive-musthittin', comp-multiplying advantage swindlers that PaiGowDan abhorred.
So, for the 90%, parking, resort fees, expensive meals, drinks, and 6-5 blackjack are just part of the tourism experience. There are not many places in the world where there is a hot 2 mile x 1/4 mile wide long strip of clubs, pools, bars, restaurants, nightlife, and gambling spots.

I would agree with most of this, but I think you've skewed it a bit. The casinos WANT the slot players most of all, because there are so many and there's a perception that there's no skill involved, so people generally don't inform themselves; they just plug in some money and hope. The cost/revenue per sqft of slots is very attractive as well, compared to nearly anything else they offer. Whales might trigger the best comps for themselves, but little old ladies spinning reels is what keeps the lights on. Skilled players are much less desirable than either.
Quote: ZenKinGHere's the places on the strip or 'close' to the strip that still offer free parking.
Wynn
Encore
Rio
Treasure Island
Pallazo
Venetian
Palace Station
Palms
Planet Hollywood
SLS
Stratosphere
Tropicana
Places like Caesars and I forget who else let you park free as well, but you have to be a 'local' and show proof of residency such as a license. Many other places offer free parking as well but you have to be there less than an hour. The above list is purely FREE though no matter if local or hours spent in the casino.
Add Circus Circus to this list.
