No, and in Vegas I never intend to, so if you charge I will stay somewhere else.
Who say's you can't beat the Casino?
Quote: DrawingDeadIt looks like all the installation of equipment & construction of miscellaneous new customer annoyance stuff for this is all done, and ready to go 'live' soon. I've looked at it all closely at one of the properties, given it some thought, and I still have no clue how it all is going to work, if it works, and just exactly what I'm supposed to do to pay the ransom to escape with my car.
I assume that it works the same way it works in pretty much every other automated parking garage I've been to:
1. When you arrive, you get a ticket.
2. When you are about to leave, you put your ticket into one of those machines, which will then tell you how much you owe; you put that much money into the machine, and it spits your now validated ticket back out.
3. When you leave, you stick your ticket into another machine, and the arm in front of your car that is supposed to raise when you do this doesn't for some reason, so you push the button to speak to somebody and then have a "conversation" (usually consisting of you yelling and the other person telling you to calm down). If you're lucky, the exit gate has someone manning a booth to fix any problems, but then again, if there was somebody in the booth, then you would just pay that person rather than dealing with the machines...
When I was at the casinos last month they seemed down.
2 to 4 hour sliding scale, 4 hours automatic $10 and max per day. Circus Circus will remain free for now.
I believe MGM credit card holders are free. I don't know if people who are staying or have higher tier level cards are free?
I take it you pay on the way out? What if you lose all your money in the casino and can't pay?
If you knew lying would get you a free exit pass, would you do so?
Quote: AxelWolfMGM properties will start charging locals for parking at midnight. Just in time for NYE. 1st hour is free,

I suggest you make up your begging sign before you go to the casino and leave it in the car just in case
that happens
LOST ALL MY MONEY USING MY NEW SYSTEM ON CRAPS AT MGM
CAN'T PAY FOR PARKING TO GET MY MIATA OUT OF PARKING GARAGE
CAN YOU HELP A GUY OUT
Harrahs is the worst. They even have an 'early' check in fee. 'sir, you can check in at 4pm.. it is now noon, i have a wonderful clean room ready for you, but it will cost you 10 dollars, or you can go sit on that bench for 4 hours until 'your' room is ready. Its up to you.'
FYI. Binion's has/had a side exit you can just drive out of.Quote: coilmanI suggest you make up your begging sign before you go to the casino and leave it in the car just in case

At the Plaza the ticket thing is oftentimes broken and they just leave the entry gate open until it's fixed, you can claim it was broken at the time you entered and they just let you exit.

You should get credit for spending money in the casino. At least that's the way I've seen it done elsewhere.
My first thought when I saw this system, is they're trying to rid the casino of people who drive there, hang out but don't spend much money.
They "need" to make profits? I don't think so. It is far more like "They WANT to make (larger) profits."Quote: WatchMeWinThey need to make profits however they can.
They claim they are doing it for our benefit because we are asking they build more parking or some crap like that.Quote: SanchoPanzaThey "need" to make profits? I don't think so. It is far more like "They WANT to make (larger) profits."
