Let me preface the rest of this post by saying that I don't do much gambling. I like to stay in nice hotel rooms and I like to pay as little as possible for them but I don't expect to get free rooms. I usually stay & gamble at MGM Properties and so far in my most recent Vegas trips (post kids in the past 3 years) have been to NYNY, Mirage, Vdara, Mandalay Bay, THE hotel/Delano and Bellagio. I receive room promotion emails from all of these hotels and occasionally from Monte Carlo (where I gambled a teeny bit).

I've come to notice that when I receive room promo emails, they come from M life directly or from the individual hotel. If emails come from the individual hotel, they can be prefaced with casino.hotelname.com or hotel.hotelname.com. The casino side operations and the hotel side operations have different marketing and different room promotions.

Most of the time, the offers from the casino side you have to call in to talk to someone from "VIP Services". Occasionally there may be a direct link to the specific offer on the Mlife website. I don't have a lot of luck with the Mlife website though. The Mlife website pricing often seems to be higher than what I can dig up on my own online.

Emails from the hotel side lead to a specific promotion offer on the online booking engine. I love this as a research tool. It's much easier to look at the calendar this way (2 months at a time) and be able to pinpoint which dates are low occupancy nights with the cheapest room rates.

Other than receiving promo emails, I look for advertisement links placed on Facebook or random websites online and I save those for future use. Sometimes the dates of travel and expiration date to book by are far in the future, which I love. Gives me lots of flexibility.

For my most recent trip to the Bellagio, I called into the Bellagio Casino VIP Services using the phone number below. They were able to offer me $89/night (+ the resort fee, of course). From my previous online research, I knew that the hotel side was offering rooms at $139/night (+RF) plus two buffet passes. I did mention the free buffet passes while I was on the phone and asked whether they could throw those in for my $89/night offer. That was when I was informed that the casino marketing is a separate department from the hotel marketing and she would be happy to transfer my call to the hotel side if I preferred the free buffet promotion.

I'm offering these contact phone numbers below to make it easier for people to call in and inquire about pricing. This is not meant as any kind of guarantee on my part about being able to get the cheapest rooms through this route. I only have these phone numbers gleaned from my personal emails for properties where I have actually gambled at. If anyone else has additional phone numbers to different MGM hotels, that would be great if you would like to share them here, too. :)

Keep in mind that they'll ask you for your Mlife member number when you call so they can access promotions on your account and communicate with you what those are.
