This was my 4th straight G2E.
Every year I look for the new game developers. This year as always, there were a few new individuals with booths. Unfortunately, I saw a people who threw money away with a booth by not having a game licensed or not flashy enough to draw attention to the booth. Sort of like a grade school science fair, bells, whistles, flashing lights vs a cardboard decor. But that's my opinion, and I wished them luck.
Anyway, I saw the floor the before I went, and thought it wasn't a good idea having all the big boys in one area. It just seemed like it was a hodge podge of booths, not a real flow to it.

What was the best new game you saw ? Not necessarily a winner, but the best you saw ?

I liked Shufflemaster's Money Market. Not many booths by little guys with one or two games this year. I think the Spin-n-Win guy finally threw in the towel, he made the show every time for several years it seems like.

Texas Roulette!!!
My friend and I are still shaking our heads at that one. Every hand we played, we lost, the house advantage had to 100%!
If you are going to drop large coin for booth space, at least have a the signage done by a professional.
Wiz, I agree with you, Money Market appears to the game.

Can anyone give a brief description of Money Market?
I hope it has a better return than real money markets :)

I'd be interested in pics/details of "Texas Roulette" too. It sounds so bad, it has to be good.

In an attempt to direct this thread back to the original topic of the VENUE.....
This was my first G2E. However I have attended small-scale conventions at the LV Convention Center, as well as both attended and manned booths at the Atlantic City Convention Center, and Jacob Javits Convention Center in NYC.
While I prefer the walking access of Sands over the Monorail access of LVCC, all four times I walked to the Sands, once I entered the Venitian I was lost until I saw one of the Green Sign guys and asked for directions. As an experiment, one day I walked out of the Sands street access, to see if that was easier. It may have been, but it was certainly longer.
The interior floor plan left me somewhat confused as well. All other conventions had the giant booths on the exterior of the floor plan. Either at the front, sides, or back. By having some of the giant booths in the middle of G2E, aisles got interrupted preventing you from walking the show in a logical sequential manner.
Also, there were several unsold booths. Some on desireable interior corner locations. If it were me, I would have put a couple tables and chairs in those unsold booths, if for no other reason than to reduce the obviousness that they were unsold. In the unsold corner booths, I would have put a map. There were far too few of those. Yeah, I realize that folding maps were provided when obtaining the badge, but that's not the same thing.
