I will be out at the facility on Saturday Sept. 16th, so if anyone wants to come out, say hello, and give the game a a whirl, I'll be floating around the casino for a good portion of the day/night. Feel free to shoot me a PM if you'd like to try and coordinate something.
Many of you have followed my journey with my games over the past for the last 7 years on here (9 years I've been chasing this dream). Along the way, you have offered your congrats upon achievements, constructive criticism to try and help me improve, assistance in trying to promote, and words of encouragement in times of struggle, either publicly via this board or in private. Sadly there is one member whom I wish could see me get one of my games back out onto the floor. You always said since Michigan this day would come... This ones for you Dan. Hopefully, things will start rolling along from here.
Did the Tribe have to adjust its compact for the game?
Boymimbo, the state gaming commission approves games for all in state facilities. The jurisdiction has both state run card rooms and tribal casinos. When applying for a license and game approval, you designate which you are looking you would like the game approved for. Once the game is approved by the state for tribal play, the tribal facilities are allowed to run any state approved games, subject to the faculties own tribal game approval to make sure the game satisfies the "MIC" (minimum internal control) requirements required under IGRA and their individual compacts. Therefore, if I understand the question correctly, there is no formal amendment to the individual compacts required in order to run new state approved games.
As far as the facility goes, they seem to be big advocates of the game, and are doing their part in promoting it heavily. They are running some solid promotions and marketing efforts on my behalf. Even though we just launched, I am very happy with them in that regard.
Quote: miplet:+) Congrats! According to google, it would take me 220 hours to walk there. I better wait until you get an install a little closer to home.
Down to 13 hours 15 minutes. Guess I have no excuse now. A little over an hour by car, 2.5 by bus. Might not come on Saturday but should make it some time this month.

Here is a thought I had:
For future placements/felts of the game, do you think you might ever put a pay for Quads? The only reason I ask is because the probability (one deck) is roughly 1 in 270,725 of hitting Quads, so you could make the pay on it something great and it would barely dent the House Edge. 500, for example, subtracts .00184689 or 0.184689%. 100 subtracts .000369378 or 0.0369378%.
The only reason I thought of it was because I got dealt Trips. I know it's fundamentally a game where you play three cards, but Quads seems so rare that I think it should pay something over the Trips pay and even over the Mini-Royal. Granted, it won't come up much, but wouldn't you feel ripped if you ended up with Quads and only got 6:1?
(I didn't get the fourth card, by the way)

I think your starting to visualize the four card progressive/additional bonus wager that will be added to the game down the road Mission ;). Not just quads but three 10 value cards and the Ace, JQKA, all suited 10 value cards etc...
I just want the simplest version of the game to get established first.
(I've hit the quads once or twice over a longggg period of time)
Quote: beachbumbabsBrent,
Here's one for you. I fully understand why this doesn't pay more than trips. And it paid very well, as you can see. But it FEELS like it should pay more. lol...

Would the 31 Classic Progressive, where the game has no Money$uit, be that much different than the Money$uit 31 Progressive? I am thinking you just pick a static suit for 31 Classic (like Diamonds) and could use the same system, but maybe I am missing something.

Nope, your not missing anything. The Money$uit Mini-Royal progressive bonus wager functions the same with a static or randomly determined bonus/Money$uit. If added I would likely keep the same wager name also, to link the original game with the new simplified version. If Money$uit 31 and 31 Classic both are installed this can obviously be interlinked between the two games as well, for the larger community linked progressives that we see on the market today.
Additionally, as previously stated, I would more likely add a four card progressive to create even larger potential jackpots on the game. However, both are potential options for operators looking for a progressive addition to the game, as some facilities find more appealing even during the initial launch.

I would agree with incorporating that as well, but I meant that there should be some sort of special pay for Quads on the base game due to the low effect that such a pay would have on the house edge.
The base game is a 3 card game that is true to the parlor game of 31. A Progressive is where I think you can start getting creative with not only rewarding high ranking 3 Card hands, but also incorporate 4 Card pays.

Mission, paradigm's response is pretty spot on with why I don't want to include anything involving 4 card hands into the base game and saving those for additional optional side wagers. I'm very stern on not messing with the game of 31 for the base underlying games...
But I definitely understand your point regarding the lack of any real house edge change by incorporating it into the base game....
The Dealers openly express how they like dealing the game over the others on their floor due to the simplicity/ease of the procedures and also how they enjoy dealing it because it's simply "very fun". The draw card has served its purpose to create a large amount of excitement and, even more importantly, creating a large amount of player interaction, where each players and the dealer will be shouting/calling for what they want the draw card to be to see each other hit large payouts or simply come from behind and win on the base game.
All in all a very promising start!!! Many people out there, of all ages, grew up playing the game 31 like I had, which only further established the vast market potential that exist for my games.
Here are two social media promos the casino has put out for the game. I'm a big fan of the pictorial game introduction that had done, as it is a very good rules walk through for new players learning the game (each picture in sequence has the step by step rule it is depicting). Also, the did a short little edited interview with me to also help try and promote the game.

This proves perseverance and belief in your game can overcome the many obstacles that are thrown in the way of independent games developers, needless to say the game's got to be top notch as well.
Good luck and hope this builds your game a great foundation to expand from.
I say, awesome! May you grow and prosper with it.
Quote: SM777Any update on performance?
Hi all, thank you for the continuing kind words! I am very happy to hear that report from PG and I have been hearing similar reports from folks I have kept in touch with since visiting the facility a few weeks ago (Staff and players alike). I can't share specific details, but the game is performing VERY well. It is holding exactly where it should (of course it still a small sample set), dropping very well (without even considering that it is brand new on a $3 base game/$1 side wager table Min) and the return play has been astronomical (which is most important to me for proof of concept). I could not be happier at the moment.
On a side note, be on the lookout for a separate thread in the next few weeks about the game entering another important/large jurisdiction :-), one I have been pursuing since day one of starting this journey............................................
The above referenced performance data/reports from direct from Muckleshoot helped secure upcoming trial, info to be released soon!
Thanks everyone for the continued support. After almost 10 year (almost a 3rd of my entire life), things finally seem to be starting to come together. Keep your fingers crossed for me!
This is all AWESOME to hear, Brent! I'm really glad with the success you're having and hope for expansion and continued success of your game! You've definitely also shown us how much of a FIGHT it is to get a new game to take hold. We're rooting for you =).Quote: mrsuit31Hi all, thank you for the continuing kind words! Thank you Romes! I hope those dice still have a place on your shelf somewhere.
Ha, of course! I think they're a national treasure... from the "original" MoneySuit 31 =D.Quote: mrsuit31Thank you Romes! I hope those dice still have a place on your shelf somewhere.

Thank you Dave! I should be able to release the details in a week or so. Just waiting on one more thing to be finalized...
