For those of you who have inked deals with the major games distributors -- did you submit to multiple companies simultaneously initially or hit them up one at a time, only moving on if you received a rejection?

I think you have to submit to everyone and anyone willing to listen to you. You can't afford to wait too long on a particular company and lose all the time in between. I won't mention any companies specifically, but one particular company whom I was interested in working with took me a total of three years to get in front of them. I was sent to a number of different people in a number of states before finally reaching the right person. I didn't wait on them in the meantime because it was possible that I may never get an opportunity with them. I continued to stay in contact with them, but also reached out to anyone else I could talk to who was willing to give me some of their valuable time.

Additionally, things change so much from day to day in companies, what looks like a huge opportunity one day may not work out the very next day. Timing is also very important for getting a deal with a company along with a good amount of luck.

How did you identify the distributors or is it a small pool of companies to pick from? Are there companies that place the games in multiple States and countries or is territory specific?

I have had the opportunity to have my game picked up by a distributor.

Here are my suggestions towards success.

Try your very best to get your game on a casino floor anywhere in the country.

If your game is on the floor, sales people of the distribution company will take notice as you have taken away a revenue opportunity for the distribution company.

The salespeople will report to the executives of the distribution company and they will reach out to the individuals through the Director of Table Games that placed your game to get in contact with you.

Now, if you are not at the point of having the game in a casino, it's even more of an uphill battle as your game is unproven and getting in front of distribution companies will be a difficult task.

Also, when looking for distribution companies, look around, look that their portfolio of games. Will your game compete against a game that is currently in their portfolio? Will their sales staff put in an aggressive effort to sell your unknown game or will the sales staff sell what is easier to sell, an established game?

I have been around the block on this issue..........it has been an very eye opening experience.

Currently, we are working with another distribution company that has a very small portfolio and the sales staff has put together a marketing plan on how to take our current game located at a single casino (it has been confirmed that the DTG has put in request to their company for a second table, that decision will be finalized with 90 days) to getting it on the floor at three other casinos through their aggressive selling by the end of Q116.

I wish you all the best!
