When I was at AT&T in late 1990's, almost all power was taken away from 2nd level managers. Why ? Because Bernie Ebbers was
cooking the books at World Com and the powers that be at AT&T headquarters came up with a new term Process Owners. Kids out of prestigious college telling guys who had been doing the work for 30 years how they wanted it done.
When SWITCH hit Colorado, I talked to 2 table games managers I knew from the old days, and the Casino manager said " " Here you go ! " One made sure it did not go. At what levels are new games decision made, especially in chain operations ? I know Switch went in 10 or 12 Casinos all at once in Colorado. I am sure now that SHFL is BALLY, it's footprint got bigger !

Shed not for her
the bitter tear
Nor give the heart
to vain regret
Tis but the casket
that lies here,
The gem that filled it
Sparkles yet
