I pretty much felt the same way when I created my poker card game , so I found a Patent Attorney that said if he likes the concept , his firm would pay all patent costs for a 25 % ownership if I was to receive a patent . No obligations .
Now , here less than 2 years I own 75 % of a Multi-Billion Dollar Gaming Industry Poker Patent US8,506,375 with multiple Pct's worldwide .
My advice to you is go for it , you have nothing to lose .
Dreams only come true if you do something about it .
Don't die broke busted and disgusted !

Congrats to you, Mr. Ward, and welcome to the forum! Looks like you're trying to sell your rights to your invention?

Seems so, though that's a topic for another thread. I have some advice for him if he chooses to start one.
It's like the vaunted Siri of the iPhone. She is programmed to be make very clever remarks, and this can amuse you until you go on conversing and then realize Siri does not know what she just said.
So if this is what's going on, is he violating our rules?
However, I would advise Mr. Ward to ask his attorney about "prosecution history estoppel" and to make sure he's accurately representing what his patent covers.
If that is what happened, I would offer some friendly if unsolicited advice to the new admins: a brief comment edited into the first post of the new thread, with a link to the original parent thread, is a boon to readers. Especially since I block tons of threads and may have missed the original parent thread.

It was split off from another topic but the post was basically just an advertisement for his new patent. It had no real substance to the original post or thread.
I read the patent and his 10 reasons why he thinks the patent is the next best thing and don't agree with it at all. I think he's asking 200 million for the rights. I'd be surprised if he ever makes a dollar off of it. As a 20+ year poker player and 5+ year poker room manager, I'd have no interest in it even if it was free.

How dare anyone question the integrity of such a renowned Philanthropist ? His charity puts Bill Gates to shame !

To paraphrase Inigo Montoya, "I do not think it means what he thinks it means." Based on an initial reading of the claims, live poker room games aren't covered because the cards aren't dealt by a "system". I think the patent is directed toward e-tables.
On the other hand, if you'd have interest in the game I was developing in that other thread, please PM me. Extended free trials for existing forum members!
