Regarding Triple Match bonus at Hollywood Park, currently the game is still on a field trial and we do not have a Progressive Jackpot Tracking System for the game at this time. Although I would also prefer the Triple Match bonus to be progressive as originally designed because it would really help attract players to the game as the progressive amount gets higher. With the game's performance continue to improve and more players learning about the game, hopefully, we will also have a Progressive Jackpot Tracking System installed in a near future.

California card clubs collect a "fee" for each hand. How does this (or does it not) figure in the edge calculations?

I think you would take the percentage that the fee represents of your wager and add it to the house edge. If you are playing $10 BJ and have to pay a $0.50 fee per hand to the house, you are playing BJ at 5% plus the normal HE based on the BJ rules in play.

We did not factor in the “collection fees” because it is entirely separated from the House Edge on the game. The edge is a calculated advantage for the player/banker who is banking on the game. The “collection fee” is a fee charged by the gaming establishment.

Regarding card clubs in Los Angeles, players play against a player/banker instead of the House. That’s why we have the “Corporations”. They sit on every table and cover all actions on the games. The gaming establishments, some people might refer to as the House, make their proceeds from the “collections” they charge players for playing each hand. For example, on a $10 minimum table, each player will pay a $1 “collection fee” for his bet of the minimum $10 to up to $100. If a player wants to wager $150 for the hand then the “collection fee” will be $2.

Some might think it is outrageous to have to pay these "collection fees" but that’s only because it’s something they are not familiar with. For card clubs in California, that’s a norm. It might seem like a lot having to pay a $1 “collection fee” for a $10 or $20 bet but these players play and pay those fees on a regular basis. These gaming establishments are conveniently built next to the freeways. On most days during busy traffic hours, players would drop in and play some cards, hoping to have some fun while waiting for traffic to die down. In return, the House also offers some really good incentives to players including gifts like ipads and iphones, $25-$100 in play vouchers, and tickets to daily cash drawings.

Let's face it, the collection fees are outrageous for most small time players. But that is what the local card club market bears and this fee should not be factored in when evaluating one game vs. another.

At the card club in Ventura (closest one), there is no player-collection on blackjack. The banker pays from $1 to $8 per round in collection, based on the total action. The bad rule here is that blackjack pays 6-to-5. That's not as bad as a player-collection, however. The game offers surrender and is H17. Many players would be happy to play this game in Las Vegas.

On 3CP, the players have to pay a $1 collection on wagers up to $100. The banker puts in either $1 or $2. But the house edge on their variation of 3CP is under 2%, so on a $100 wager the players have a better game than in Las Vegas.
