Is Caesars getting tighter now that they've been bought by ElDorado Resorts? Here are my specifics:
The last 5 years I've been getting Diamond in a Day in Lake Tahoe. Besides 2 or 3 trips to Tahoe or Reno, I typically go to Vegas about 4 or 5 times a year. I primarily play live poker and some video poker, so I realize I'm not much of a catch as far as Caesars is concerned. When my wife comes with me, she typically plays small stakes video poker on the strip, plus she might dump $100 into a slot (again, low rollers, I know). I should also mention that due to Covid, concerns, I did not play at all in 2020. In 2019 we did achieve Diamond Plus (basically did DIAD 3X). Even though I haven't been going, I occasionally check room rates. Typically, if I was going to Bally's by myself, I could get weeknights for about $26 and, depending on the weekend, probably $60-$90 for Fridays/Saturday. When I added my wife's card as a companion, the weeknights were comped, and Fridays and Saturdays usually dropped down to about $40 or $50.
Now fast forward to 2021: Lately, when I check rates, I get no additional discount for bringing my wife. Nada! So I'm wondering, is it because of ElDorado, or is it that they finally figured out I'm too much of a low roller? Any thoughts?
Thank you in advance,
Wungee
Allow me go back the other way! I haven't given CET any action since 2019, and my offers have steadily gone down -- I can't get any comped nights in Vegas now.Quote: SiegfriedRoyI found it to be the opposite. I have not played much in 2020, and I’ve been getting way better (tempting) offers than in 2019.
On the other hand, Mlife is sending me offers for up to 4 free nights plus freeplay & resort credit. I think I put $100 through a slot at the Mirage back in 2016, and since then, nada. Maybe it's time for me to switch teams!
VERY NICE ! ( Add BORAT voice when reading ).Quote: JoemanMlife is sending me offers for up to 4 free nights plus freeplay & resort credit. I think I put $100 through a slot at the Mirage back in 2016, and since then, nada.

Yep, that is my issue as well. I will say that I can get free nights in Tahoe, but if I want to play live poker, Vegas is the place to be. I just find it odd that adding my wife as a companion does nothing to the rates, when before it made a significant difference. Oh well.

The annual Nevada Gaming Abstract is due in "mid-January." For folks who like to follow the money, it shows how much each gaming property earned from play, room, food, etc. It may have interesting info that might "suggest" reasons for the changes you (and others) noted.
I want to compare the 2020 edition (only thru June 2020, unfortunately) to the 2019 edition. I wonder how Nevada will budget this year with diminished revenues. Many states will have budget problems, but NV is so unique (as are all the rest).
Quote: mtcardsJust as an update to the conversation. I was trying to get a comped room at Horseshoe Tunica and was told the best rate they could do was the $79 weekend rate. They said I dont have enough play. Now, I am a diamond member and already am 1/7 of the way to Diamond Plus (4000 pts so far this year), but somehow I dont qualify. Yet, when I check the rate calender, find that I can get comped rooms at every single Caesars Resorts Property (Other than Nobu) in the United States, even Caesars Palace which used to be difficult. When contacting the Casino Host, they said its an algorithm set by the hotel, to which I basically said I would be applying my algorithm and staying next door at Gold Strike (MGM Resorts), where I play a third as much and get 5 times the comps
I actually was inquiring about the same thing. My host said all the non-Caesars properties have not been properly imbedded into the Caesars website and algorithm. It’ll take a long time until El Dorado makes it a priority to look into this.
But I have also found that based upon your play, they will reevaluate your trip after stay at Horseshoe. So you might try that.

I realize the pandemic forced their hand into giving outrageous deals to draw people back in, but the place was PACKED in December and January of 2020. I think now the restrictions have loosened due to COVID hysteria dying down, the Casinos are less prone to give amazing offers and have reverted back to their stingy ones.
CET is notorious for being stingy on Comped rooms, meals, free play, etc. Early this year I was getting weekends comped, now they inflate the prices to $129 - $299 on weekends. The crowds are back for sure, but for how long... who knows?

That is completely contrary to my experience. CET has always been the easiest place for most people that I know to get free rooms. I usually give them one big day of play per year and have marketing comps and free rooms available almost everyday of the year.
Doesn't sound like this link is appropriate, spam?Quote: galish1990Allow me go back the other way! I haven't given CET any action since 2019, and my offers have steadily gone down -- I can't get any comped nights in Vegas now.

Also depends on what part of the country you are looking for. On the East Coast, they are lacking an abundance of comped rooms on Weekends.
Middle of the week is no problem, but looking at this Memorial Day weekend is already Sold Out. So yea, the tourists are making their way back in time for the summer rush.
