got an email about a 2x multiplier.
I'm guessing this is just a rewards multiplier and not Tier multiplier?
ie: doesn't count for the bonus tier points?
(the email just says 2x multiplier. doesn't say which- rewards or tier)
That being said, 2x is low (my local casino has a 10x RC day once a month). So maybe it could be a tier credit multiplier....
Quote: bigfoot66Ak Chin sent me a mailer for a 2x tier credit multiplier recently. It was not interesting to me so I threw it away without scrutinizing it but if memory serves the tier credits would be multiplied but not the RC's.
I stand corrected then. But considering horseshoe baltimore just opened, offering a tier credit multiplier there does actually make sense.

you would rather have rc's multiplied than tier credits?
If you're in that situation, that 2x could be worth about 4x or more. From the Total Rewards website...

Quote: beachbumbabsSince all Harrah's properties offer tier credit bumps, a 2x multiplier could be a very good deal if you're trying to move into platinum/diamond. Most of their bumps are based on how much you play in a 24 hour period. I would've loved to have that available in April when I was playing into Diamond status.

that's assuming the multiplied points counts towards the tier bonus.
ie: 2500 tier points + 2500 with 2x multiplier = 5k tier points
but does the tier bonus see you earning 5k or only 2500 tier points?

The multiplier should be linked to your card. The player's club can set the pays to differ with your card in there (from what Joe Blow walking up earns). I would guess the coupon has to be redeemed thru the player's club, though they could just put the multiplier on your account and it gets activated when you start playing a machine, using your card.
When you earn the 5K points at 2x, at the next day's cycle, the computer will register the bonus and the tier bump. They can also just set the computer to give 2x points casino-wide for multiple points days, and everybody gets them. To the best of my knowledge, the tier thresholds remain the same during multiplier days. In my experience, it takes a few hours to register the tier bump throughout their system. But the player's club knows how to look at it and can issue the card (for use, say, at a buffet line) as soon as you've made the tier. (Bally's is particularly good about doing this.)
