$50,000 coin in vp or $25,000 in slots will almost certainly cost me much more than $295.

that's why they call it gambling.

I actually made a few $ in vp for my very 1st DiaD.
then a week later, they gave me $200 in free slot play as the comp for doing the $50k coin-in.
plus subsequent months of small weekly small freeslot plays, and monthly trinket gifts that I took the $25-$40 free slot play equivalent
Craps is paradise (Pair of dice). Lets hear it for the SpeedCount Mathletes :)

The casinos actually call it gaming. I'm trying to follow their example by gaming the system. I want max benefits at minimum cost.

Unless you want the Diamond Lounges, convert a lot of RC to Free Play, or stay at CET properties a good bit, I don't think Diamond carries too much EV over your Platinum card.

I'd think living in Vegas the biggest perk would be Free Parking, which you already get with platinum.

3 perks that would have saved us a ton and I wish I had diamond. No resort fees. I have stayed 12 days this year and have 5 more planned. Free show tickets, could have seem 2 shows this year. $100 dinner credit. That is about 700 in savings for this year alone and it would be the same next year. Wish I had the bankroll to do diad

Diamond gives Free valet parking, two free shows a month, and a $100 dinner. Every who lives in Vegas gets free parking. Platinum only gets you on a shorter line for eating. If it has any other benefits, I haven't noticed them. I'm thinking Diamond will get me top tier at a few other casinos, as well.

I forgot it said parking was free with a NV license. That's not the case in A.C. (and they charge like $30/day there). I do think Valet is free for platinum members though.

You're correct that there more EV in the card with the dinner, show tickets, and tier matching promotions. My point was that, for me at least, 90% of the value is in the parking and no resort fees. If I couldn't take advantage of those two perks, I don't think it would be worth the outright cost of purchasing the card.

If I lived in Vegas, I think I'd earn diamond outright. With all the promotions there, like the Quest For Rewards (kicking myself for not earning more badges while I was in vegas), I think you could do it for less than $400 when factoring in all the free play you'd get from earning 15k TC.

If you can factor in future free play it can be worth +$4,000 or more. The last few years my wife and i have got over $4000 in free play each year.

With the Diamond Dinner(s) and Free Play alone, according to my calculations this is a +EV play to get Diamond... Let alone all the other perks.

Founder's Club or Quest For Rewards promotion?

Nope, just Diamond In a Day. Either 5k one day, or 2500 in two days.

Though I suppose I should just mention it to mention it again... as JohnnyQ said, CET always does promotions either beginning or mid year that allow you to STACK your tier credits (such as: whatever TC you earn in the next 2 months we'll give you 20% extra up to 20k tier credits). I was NOT requiring this in my initial calculations though that DIAD is +EV pretty much off the top.
